What is the highest minimum amount you have to share in order to join a particular hub? I'm using my brother's computer so won't start on DC until I have mine sorted and everything. Last time I looked it was 1TB but that was about 3 years ago now...

Wow, that must be a pretty exclusive hub if you need 1TB. Most that I've ever been in have had a 5GB minimum.

There's no actual set minimum to join any given hub. They all have their own requirements. But I'd say 5-50 Gigs. 1TB seems like an enormous amount, considering the average power user has 500-750 GB hdd space.

Do you know of any music hubs that have a minimum share of 50GB?

Yeah. And large HDD cost a lot. Some people will have an allotted amount to share, have a copy burnt on blank media, and then any subsequent downloands to be burnt thereafter. Can't keep everything on one media just in case of failure...

for The good dc hubs, usually the requirement is more concentrating on your upload speed, atleast I have noticed. Some good hubs usually require say 50g's but also a 10mbit up speed so all their users get what they want, fast.

yeah 150GB is where the good hubs have... some will require 100GB of a certain content.

5TB minimum ... normal share between 5TB to 15TBs.
50 users ... 30 with shares over 10TBs ... lovely hub :)

Prices of harddrives has dropped drastically -->
A 500GB SATA goes for $140 / £75 / €110 ...

WOW 1 terrabyte? Glad I use newsgroups! If you ever get BUSTED with that much of your stuff on the site...I hope you have a very good lawyer! But I doubt even he would be able to get you out of doing jail time for that much.

Good to see there's 1TB internal HDDs out. Question of how many you can put in your case. I've filled all my slots and one has the OS installed, which is 250GB, so that is staying. Think I'll look into 2TB internal HDDs when they arrive.
