I was wondering if people could post methods they use to protect themselves while using Bittorrent such as peerguardian.

Rent a domicile within decent radius of an unguarded hotspot.

The last 2 weeks when I booted my laptop at home I've noticed that it offers to connect to an unprotected network one of my neighbors must have set up. I've been debating trying to find out who and warning them of possible dangers.

I suppose, but it would mean connecting to their network and I haven't decided that is proper.
