"Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller "300" is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army."

King Leonidas: Gerard Butler
Queen Gorgo: Lena Headey
Theron: Dominic West
Dilios: David Wenham

IMDB rating: 8.2/10 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416449/)

well, those who waited for a better copy probably snatched neptune's screener from day or two ago.

my review :
great topic, stunning visuals, solid acting and shaky script (tho not nearly as pathetic as gladiator for example, still...) retelling is too americanized, too pathetically non-pathetic (:icon_scra) but beautifully gory :)

my rating: 7/10

All dem lazy fools saw the movie and rushed to tha nearest gym to get in shape....lol....i was amazed how much a movie can motivate the masses to get builded....I am a regular to the gym in my place and normally the gym used to be empty....300 rocks.....They should make more movies like this.....;)

I think the movie was more of a touchstone for the future of movie production. I mean, when you take a look at the making of you can't help but be astonished at how it's made. I mean, it was in a damned warehouse! With such technological advances, it seems possible that something as epic in scale as The Lord of the Rings could one day be done without ever stepping foot outside a production studio.

As for the gym effect, I've noticed that too. Sadly nobody's gotten the hint that "spartans" do cardio.

I just got around to watching this movie last night and I think it was really good... really good until the end. I don't know if anyone here reads comics, but the end kind of reminded me of the Marvel Civil War that just wrapped up. I mean, you're all set to root for the right side... you know they're right... they kick total ass... they're going to win... and then it's just like they give up. DAMN YOU CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!!! Whoops.... off topic... :)

Anyways, I would have just like to see them go out fighting a little harder. I mean, they put up and awesome fight until that point.

Just my 2 cents.

I saw it and have to say that I don't know what all the fuss was about really.

On top of the mundane story, it just looked liked they used default Vue 5 Infinite layouts for the backdrops. Pretty uninspired.

Agreed completely.

My first reaction to describe this movie was:

I was bored to death.

I am of greece .This film has historical lies!!!
We show last week with my friends and when go outside the theater we smile a lot.
<<This is sparti>> nor <<this is sparta >> !!!
<<Thermopiles>>> not <<Hot gates>>

From history we know <<leonidas>> was a old man about 60 and not tall(about 1.60 meters)
