BitTorrent is all set to launch a legal P2P video download service, BitTorrent Entertainment Network, that will offer television shows for sale and movies for rental from some of the major Hollywood studios. The news has created quite a stir amongst the technorati. Mathew Ingram, a man not known to mince words, is convinced that the new service is destined to fail. I have to agree. I feel that the reason I sometimes decide to go out and buy certain movies/music/etc, is because I'm too lazy to use bittorrent.
If you're going to pay to download, why not use something more organized like itunes.

Very true, anyway wasnt bittorrent started to share files for free. Now they are trying to commercialize it for everyone. Also its a whole lot easier for a novice computer person to just go onto there itunes and d/l there fav show. Half of them know nothing about torrents so they are completely missing there niche.

No it was created to solve the problem of distributing large files online, quickly using very little resources. Basically it was their to allow smaller companies to offer great services which would otherwise be limited to big corporations like google, microsoft etc... The creator consistently comments that his system shouldn't be used to copyright infringe because your ip address is readily available while using it.
