2. The shrunken 15000 byte limit! i wanted to post the ZP skin , but NO. it used to be 50000 bytes whats up with that ZP?!

I still love ZP but admin, please do something about this.

This has to be your 50 billionth poll!! You know you can post your topics w/o making every single one a Poll. Especially if no one even votes anymore. Rules are rules man, live with em or bitch to Jorge.

There is nothing we can do about it! Maybe the 240 second rule will stop people like 12345678910 Spaming the fourms. But if it doesn't work they should get rid of it. Also I do hate pressing back then finding my post deleted THAT SUCKS!

It is good that there is a little more time inbetween posts... recently several noobs have been flooding the board with spam, but there still are some people that pollute the board with senseless posts and threads about things that people just don't care about.

I find that many people post numerous polls about the same thing and are quite self-serving. Also, I find that many people don't look at the past polls when they post a new thread.

This is a good method (in the short term) for weeding out those that are making insubstantial posts. For example, what was so imperative that you, Lennox1, must post within this 4 minute restriction?

Perhaps if you and others thought a little bit more between posts, the quality would be raised and these posts would feel far less like mental vomit.

How long does a usual post take for you? I usually take at least 3 minutes, and then reflect on my writing. If what I have written is innecessary (or too goddamned angry and flaming) I just don't post, and everybody wins.

With some people... I always feel like I am losing.

I agree with Wingnut. Keep the time limit and think before you post. The no limit or less of a limit invites lame posting. I do see the results working now.

Most people who come to ZP do not post, but read and learn or just entertain themselves reading the posts.

But when folks post quickly one after another , it is chat and is only interesting to the chatters. It will make Zeropaid ultimately lose it's position as a leading P2P portal and it's relevency.

Peace !

ok... do you pay for the bandwidth? no. do you contribute to the advancement of this site? no. so why do you feel that ZP is obligated to conform to your wishes? if you want somthing done your way, you have to do it yourself. then, maybe youll find out that the reasons for these decisions arent as radical as you might think.

:mellow mayby some of us do too many polls. Also some generalize groups too quickly. IE asBritish Fags. Or insulting 12345678910. We all have thoughts, and at times we all might turn a light on and have a good thought. just pause before you post, it is not a bad thing. chill.

I'm not British jerk off! The post that you made is why we have this problem. Why couldn't you send me a Private message and tell me that?
good idea, though it was offered before and no one showed up....
maybe some of the newbies would show up. They seems to like to chat alot. They like to flame and annoy people! Maybe the chat would have no rules, then the newbies would go there a flame each other and we can have peace on the boards!!

I really don't mind. I do have one question though because I haven't had to do this since the new rule has taken effect; does this minimum time apply to "editing" post you already made? Like submiting a post and then correcting it.

We were having WAY too much spam. We did this to lessen our spam and people were posting pornography. Yes, this does limit the freedoms everyone else has, but helps ensure your saftey. It's like the airports, ya, everyone has to leave earlier, but you're now safe. Or safer.

I totally agree with Wingnut and Rickio.....the 240 second limit doesn't bother me. But the file size limit bug's the hell outta me. Now I get why you guys do it and I'm not gonna bitch cuz your spending your time/money on keeping your server going. So I'll just break it down for Lennox1

Ok dude...they don't allow bigger files because they don't have that kinda space and or bandwidth to be letting you upload big ass pictures. If you wanna do that set up your own site or use your computer as a FTP and link to the pictures on them.

Seriously...think about it, how many ZP members are there? I know it's over 100,000 already.....

Pretty crazy if you think about it.

Edit: Ken....I don't think it applys to making edit's I just forgot to address that. It let me do it just fine.

GTA/123456789: If your gonna flame each other do it in a PM.....maybe you can go have some lovin' after you stop fightin 'n ah fussin'

Peace all, Later

:devil Personally I don't have a problem with the time limit. I just go get something to drink, take a wizz, read my email, or just daydream. It's only 4 minutes. Is that too much to ask in this day? I mean if you can't occupy yourself for 4 minutes then maybe a forum isn't the place for you.

I freakin' love it.If your not even taking four minutes to read and then put thought into whut your point is gonna be your probably just spamming to run up your post tottal. I dont have many postsbut I always try and comment when I feel I have somthing worth saying!(not often) zeropaid ya aight with me!

...I donīt really have a problem with the time limit. I donīt post that often, and when I do, it rarely goes beyond one post per thread. Besides, I try to think it through when I post..I have a bit of a bad temper, so this is even an apropriate measure to ppl with a short fuse like me.
As for the attachment limit, I donīt really care...I seldom make attachments...when I have something to show, I just link it.

So, Iīm 100% with Zeropaid on this, all the way!

And just how did I know that lennox1 was gonna be the 1st to bitch about this?
Read his post...thatīs an admittance to spamming if I ever saw one.
It used to be that I had some comprehension and tolerance for him, since i took him as a naive newbie but heīs really gotten to my tits by now. His kind of posts are, to me, 100 times worse than anything by SupremeBeing or 12345678910...at least they entertain me. Lennox1 is just plain boring and pointless.

Well the 240 limit is a bitch forst time you get a post erased in the "back" clicking process, but the intention and probably the result is ok. I dont like the pic size limit at all, it takes something away you know? Like posting desctops, general screenshots you use as explanation or whatever, zp member art, lots of things..Should this limit have been made to limit the chances of someone posting porn here? w00t? First of all, it would be the mods job to simply remove the porn, this way you hurt all of us! Lazy and stupid, ZP! Second, so what if some (and lets face it, its kinda unlikely) 13 year old comes by this place and in some way gets a peep at some pic before its removed, I mean if a 13 yr old hasnt seen or is "damaged" by seeing goddamned pic of some skin, there is something seriously wrong with that 13 yr old and maybe it was about time he saw it. So zeropaid management, yes you two guys who only post here when its convenient for you, the time limit is okay but the picsize limit is just lame, well unexcusable really since you already admitted it doesnt have anything to do with the bandwith. In all the time Ive been around ZP Ive heard of ONE porny post which was removed before we all had a chance to see Jorges sister with cream on her face. I have some respect for the ZP management because they dont censor like crazy, but there are also reasons not to have respect for them! And dont tell me to go elsewhere if I dont like it ( that was for stupid users, not the management, they arent that dumb) because zeropaid is the people who come here, and nothing else. ps: I support Hunters Live And Let Live philosophy but..hey, the Brits ARE fags...lmao

I dont have any probelm with it. Most of the people who have been coming here for a while Im sure welcome the change. Anything that make the commuity a better place is good right? Running a forum is no small task. Especially one this big. You can always look at like this.....they could give the restrictions they have and try to make ZP a good and better place, or shut the thing off and give up. So give them a break. Its not easy taking cridisizum from 1000's of people and still keep going. Especully for free.

:fire Time limit, what time limit? Never noticed. If there is one, and it bites you in the butt, and /or you are the first one to complain, than you might just be the reason it was implemented. Just a question, but why post just to see your words on screen? I read many posts, usually to try to learn, sometimes for a laugh. If you want to be able to go back over your posts, and say hey I feel good about that one, try not to post so fast and think before you start hitting the keys. Just my erudite view. Later folks.

i could care less about the annoying time limit, yes it's annoying and yes it's better now that's it 190. but i don't really care.

What i really want to be see change is the picture upload. Now threads are allowed to have a like to photos but what i want is instead of a link.

I want it to show the picture! That way we don't take any space on ZP but we still get to enjoy the photo. Like in the below thread!

What do we have like 3 or 4 threads going on this topic simultaneously? Obviously people care about it. If I remember correctly, the initial gripe had more to do with losing info while back-paging, and most of us are on the Ctrl-C track now (took me awhile -- I'm forgetful).

I'm not sure it's a money thing, My Name, but I agree that a person who says "I only post once a day" simply hasn't really got a lot to say on this issue. Similarly, someone pointed out that typing speed may be a factor, and frankly, I take a good minute -- at least -- to proofread before I hit that "submit" (you'll seldom see an edited post by me) and yet I hit the timewall now and again. Am I not thinking about my post? Not at all, it's just that I can type almost as fast as I can think (I tested at over 100wpm for some conference jobs -- I'm not bragging, just saying, it's a factor). Now to me that's like speed limits on the roads. Maybe you're a great driver and would be safe going 100 on a residential street, and I'm a crappy driver who can only handle 40 -- well, the government needs to come up with some standard, so we settle for 40 there, 180 seconds here. I buy that. I'm fine with it.

I would like to check that idea that "if you have a problem with it, maybe you're the problem" -- that's a particularly Inquisitorial perspective, up there with (at various times) the government's: "why should you care about invasion of privacy if you have nothing to hide?" Let's not start slagging people just because they have something to say on a subject.

I did notice, interestingly, that if I spend my four minutes on some other site, reading, what-have-you, that when I return **no time has elapsed** and I get slapped again, even if I've been away for 20 minutes. Again, not a huge deal, but interesting.

As for attachments, well here we go with what My Name was saying -- I'm fine limiting them. "Ah, do you ever USE them" people might ask? No, I don't. So I don't really have anything to say on that point. Good logic, My Name.

and now I insert the bouncing frog, darn it! :fire

:wings My previous post, was only to provoke some thought on the subject, and also to get us/ myself included to see if we have helped cause the problem that caused the time limit to be imposed. Also some of my previous post was tongue in cheak,IE the part stating that I never noticed. If it has cut back on the spam, I have no problem with it. All the best.

@ klimt & my name

If the "one post per day" poster you are talking about is me, them maybe you should read that post more carefully : it says "one post per THREAD".

THIS is why they have the 240 or 180 second limit...so you can read what came before.

Anyway, I still agree, a person who only posts once day shouldnīt have a very relevant opinion on this. However, if that person chose to post "I donīt care because I only post once a day", itīs still his opinion and heīs free to state it. JUST LIKE ME.

klimt da man
November 27th, 2002, 12:11 PM
@ WP -- I was following My Name's logic, not checking his facts. I wasn't pointing fingers but rather agreeing with his general point. Of course everyone is free to state their opinion. I believe what MN was getting at was, when taking various different points of view (as there will always be) into account, a person has to give weight to where those people are coming from. The extreme, which I believe MN noted, is the example of a person who doesn't post at all except to say: "yeah, limit to 3 words. I'm fine with that." Similarly, I don't drive (currently) so it doesn't really affect me if they cut traffic speeds to 10 kph. As a reasonable person, however, I feel some empathy for others having difficulties whether I'm having them or not, as long as they're reasonable concerns. Point taken?

and now I insert the bouncing frog :fire

@ klimt

I agree with that perpective, and I actually was more peeved by this attitude of "you donīt have the right to have an opinion on this".
And my main point was that, not only wasnīt I affected by the limit, but I feel that the advantages of this new system surpass the disadvantages, if you consider how much verbal "premature ejaculation" we were having here. Spam, faming and trolling will always exist, but there are ways to control it.

And anyway, anyone who uses Gustav Klimtīs name as his nick and likes flaming bouncing frogs deserves my respect...
