Last night, TL came up as "page can not be displayed". Found this odd, so I checked the dns, and I could not resolve it to anything. Host can not be found. It is up through web proxies, but not through my normal connection. Half the people I talk to say its up, the other half say its not, so I do not think its just me.

Any one else having dns problems with this site? Its been over 24 hours, and the site is up for everyone else, and no, i am not ban'd.. can not even get on their irc server, unable to resolve host.

Any one know what the deal is? Work around?

hi yes i called comcast support last night and was told they are "actively blocking sites which allow users to download copyrighted material including illegal bittorrent sites" The guy on the phone also recommended i delete any copyrighted material on my hard drive to avoid breaching comcasts terms of service.

im fucking pissed and will be changing isps right away unless these assholes stop censoring the net. i thought this kind of shit only happened in china. THE MORE PEOPLE WHO CALL AND COMPLAIN TO COMCAST THE MORE LIKELY THEY ARE TO SEE THEIR MISTAKE.

DONT listen to Krell he'll tell you for FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE like the brainless GOOGLER he is.

would setting up your own dns server work? since the web proxy does work (can't login, cause can't post on web-proxy), worth a try?

Corporate comcast says they CAN reach the site... so i'm not sure what to think now... They want my phone number, i said no, now im on hold...

All of the public trackers are available through Comcast, which I'm sure cause much more traffic than any private site. Give it a while... though I am personally prepared to switch ISPs on principle alone... I'd have to drop 2 Mb/s in speed down but that's no big deal really, considering the 20$/month savings.

I'll be switching too if this doesn't get resolved soon. They (comcast) said that they can reach it, so its not blocked. but they wrote a trouble ticket (without my account info) for the site anyway, cause i would not hang up, so we'll see. I told them i would be calling back if it wasn't resolved in a timely manner.

Edit: Comcast offers 1 gig of newsgroup access per month with your service... theres copyrighted material there too.... stupid ISP

Yeah the more I dig into it, it seems like it's just a technical issue.

I don't even download from there often but it's great to see what's hit the scene so I can grab it on usenet.... like the rich man's nForce.nl.

I'm having the same problem. I also have comcast.

I tried drtoker's workaround and it worked perfectly. Thanks drtoker

I would like to know if this is comcast's doin or just a glitch. It seems like comcast is getting a little intrusive lately, to bad its my only choice for high speed.

long live TL
