It has been like this daily since the exodus.
2 pages of new posts, 2 pages of posts by one person trying to fluff their post count with meaningless dribble.
I suppose that is what the opinion of everyone else's posts was...

When it becomes the norm to have newcomers spam 20 useless posts in a row in order to participate in the bt trading crap, there is a problem. If you are going to keep the trading post thing, which is obvious, then just remove the 20 post requirement. It only produces mindless filler.
This is the third time I've tried posting this because of my shitty internet, so.. if you see duplicates of my post, please delete it. (Or I will when I see it.)

So, do I look like a bot? Or my posts are full of "advertisements" and "abusive" content? They are the same as many others here at the forum, and even maybe a bit more valuable than some (example: "lmao (x2)!" posted by Lord_of_the_Dense - Super Moderator). Considered that? Or only looked at the date/hour?

Bor44 Take no notice of these so called senior members.
To them every post that is made by someone who is not in the ZP elite (in other words known by them) is SPAM.
Carry on posting they don't own this site.
But expected to be flamed, reputation bombed and made to generally unwelcome especially if you disagree with a senior member or post a topic they are not interested in like BT LOL Ha Ha Ha ;-).

Sorry Senior members I did not mean to insult you.
I am sure you all mean well.
Also, I know there is no ZP elite all members get treated fairly all the time.
Sorry Jorge.
Please read my PMs to see what I have to put up with.
I am now going home to where ever that is.
Lastly, who is going to decide what is SPAM.
The reason that most members do not post is because they can't be bother with the hassle of being flamed, reputation bombed and being called a noob.
So when you give new members an incentive to post (participation in BT invite trading) and then when you do call it SPAM when they take up that incentive - what the hell is THAT?
DO YOU WANT USERS TO POST OR NOT?

Thanks for your support, kerjodando. I totally agree with you. If i would "spam" everywhere with posts like Lord_of_the_Dense's "lmao (x2)" - warn me, ban me, etc. etc. But when i write content-related posts and i take part in discussion like everybody else in this forum - why my reputation must suffer? Because i'm not a member of some coterie?
LoveJuiceJonze
January 28th, 2007, 05:35 AM
Come on babies, let LoveJuice expalin.
Looking at yo posts Bor44 it seems you made 20 posts in one day. Further more they were all 2 to 3 minutes apart. It looks like you went thru the forums and pulled up as many old threads as you could with a very short reply. This is spamming baby. You know you did it and you know why.
Give some feedback babies and stop blaming other members when they point out the bad habits of users who are only trying to build up the magic post count number. I think that problem is solved now so maybe all thats old and useless will not be unearthed just for the sake of getting yo invite trade on. Dont be mad, if the problem was not caused by greedy users there would have been no need for a new rule babies.
Might I suggest that rep points be kept an eye on? If someone is "bombing" people because they are new then they should see the back side of the pimp hand for that transgression!

You pointed at the wrong man, dude. I had no beef with you in particular and have remained basically silent about this whole BT Invite thing, which, IMHO, is the biggest piece of crap to hit the internet.
But now you decide to single me out because of your own lack of comprehension. You don't see me "Lmao"-ing in every post and you sure as hell don't see me posting 20 times a day to get into some asinine pleasure thread. I didn't become a moderator here due to any supposed spamming skills.
You, on the other hand, are an obvious spammer. What CP pointed out above couldn't be more factual. And kerjo's support is a joke at best. I wouldn't follow that man's path if you valued your livelihood.
So go ahead. Keep thinking in your current direction. And remember if you want this to turn bad, it will. We have rules for debating what the mods decide. If you don't care for them, you can go elsewhere. One less (or two) BT invite thread members won't kill us. It might even make the place a little better.

Wow... for a guy that purports to fight for the little man, that is a boatload of generalization. So stereotyping the stereotypers is the answer?
Here's the answer: you are a brown-nosing, inflammatory asshat.
I'm sure you'll have some "blah blah blah, I'm morally and ethically superior blah blah blah LOLZ" post in response... but, hey that's life.
Me? I am not so much a "senior" member, but through patience and conduct, I became an accepted member of this community. I've asked "noob" questions, argued with popular members, the list of infractions to which you accuse the "elite" of being such hardliners against is full of check marks in my book of membership.
In fact, I can tell you that you won't find a forum on the net where the conduct of established members is vastly different.
The problem is the community is expanding... and it isn't growth of people who actually wish to contribute to the community, only take from it.
So, every day your new neighbor wants to borrow a cup of sugar, but just can't take the time to learn your name... it's degrading.

The one basic problem we have is a troll that had his previous name banned, and he came back under another name. See ya.
The Hunter
January 28th, 2007, 03:29 PM
People who have been banned another name will not receive 3 chances. They will be banned at the first suggestion of impropriety. Warnings or 7-day bans received under another name will also be transferred to the new name.

The problem is that a well known and established problem causer and spammer - opportunist has his head SO FAR UP JORGES ASS that it's difficult to enforce the current rules and Jorge can't make up new ones that make any sense fast enough.
Does he really think that it is wise to just fuxor years of experience and continuity, just because some asshat reprobate fucktard IMs him constantly with the same "down with the man" rhetoric?

Would that be the same man i just banned?
Yeah thats one of them, a primary number.
The problem with infestations, is that if you dont kill them right in the first place, it's a lot more difficult to get under control later.
How many F$#! times have we been thru this?
I can understand the angle of self interest that a lot of these newbies come from, but the situation is not perpetuated by the the people with a few posts trying to get their grab bag of BT crack, the problem IS PERPETUATED by those responsible for supplying it in the first place.
The influx of BT trade whores + those previosly banned that see this as a full flegged opportunistic campaign, are only going to accomplish what they are allowed to accomplish, what they are hope to accomplish, and what they are baited to accomplish, if you let them.
So hanging a BT trade carrot in front of them, then trying to legislate and regulate and micromanage the process, is diametrically apposed.
The whole thing is worsened when you no longer enforce the current rule set, when you no longer back the mods, and when you arbitrarily unban the troublemakers.
The whole BT invitation process e v e r y w h e r e has been permanently undermined due the short sighted greed of one site owner, conGRATufuckinglations!

Quite frankly I don't blame these people for posting whatever minimum they needed to get their invites. You tell them they need so many they will get so many as fast as they can. What should of been put in place from the start were regulations on the posts. Like lets say 20 posts, but only one per day counts and they must be a certain length as well as approved by some specific person. But again even this isn't full proof because then members will probably just be spammed to approve these posts.
meyou123
January 28th, 2007, 10:28 PM
Actually, if they made it to where only ONE post per day would be counted twords membership in the BT invite thread, that by itself would probably stop a LOT of spammers!
After all, if a spammer is willing to stay on ZP forums for 20 days until they get into the BT invite thread, I think they are one dedicated spammer. Most won't though, I would be willing to bet.
With all of this hassle, I can kind of see why Slyck banned BT invite threads altogether on the forums. They said it was just gettting too hard to moderate, but I wonder if the spammers from there all came here?

I think the whole problem would be solved by making the BT trade thread only open to members who have been here for six months or more. Or maybe even a year. And maybe a minimum of like 100 posts over that six month or year period

I don't think i can do that, but from what i can see i am going to get rid of the 20 posts rule as it makes my admins tired...
I think this should go back to rep... but i will not give rep points to traders...

I've been reading lots of threads on this site trying to get a handal on where you want the new members to contribute. I see lots of bickering and controversy, yes I do want into the BT trading but want to do it with in the rules of the community ( ZP ) and with the respect of the senoir members. Wanting a invite to a site and being called a whore just seams unfair and an unfriendly welcome.

I think people just want you to contribute.
Posting meaningless affirmations is 30 threads isn't contributing. Posting a real opinion or starting some new thread is contributing. There are no real guidelines for what constitutes a good post, but it's usually more than just "eye agreeee".

testicles is wise beyond his signup date and post count.
It's not that we like hating on newbies, or even that we hate newbies who post alot. It's all to do with quality of contribution.
When someone comes along and makes twenty nonsense posts in a bunch of random threads then they get shat on, regardless of whether they are trying to fill some quota or not.
Keep your posts well thought out and informative, and try to type in plain English so that we can at least understand what you're trying to get across and you will be just fine mscheeky.

If all you see is that on here, why even bother to POST? Seems like you are the one wasting your time.
And I could care LESS if they have a BT invite trade thread or not, as I use newsgroups almost exclusively now.
But I know it is important to other people, so I hope they can keep the thread going. But some rules have to apply to keep spammers and people that just want to come here to trade invites and contribute nothing else .
I come here to talk about other things in filesharing....not just trade invites as a lot of people here seem to only want to do.

Well that would clear some problems, but others may arise. For example, if you made it to where people only posted on the BT invite thread, would it not make it to where most people would just go there and have the rest of the board suffering from no or very few posts?
Of course, the flip side of that is the way it is now on some posts....people posting stupid things just to get into the BT invite thread. So I guess it is a double-edged sword.
Truth is I really don't know the answer to that, because it could go either way.
Signa
February 20th, 2007, 12:58 PM
really, the only reason anyone is posting in non-invite threads is because they
A) want help with something
B) want to bump up their postcount/rep
if anyone doesnt fall into those catagories, then i welcome them to ZP and its community, because they want to contribute in more than a self-centered way.
really, i could see this really clearing up everything. trade whores would get their trades, the people who care about the site will get the crap filtered out, and jeorge still gets his site hits.
