I am still new to burning dvds, i have a couple of xvid, and avi files that i want to burn to a dvd, but i am wondering if anyone can suggest a program maybe to convert the the files to a format suitable for a dvd. i have tried to burn a xvid to dvd but to no avail, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much!

I use dvdSanta for making dvds from videos. It's a funny name for a program, but it works.
