Looks like "the man" can't keep a good BitTorrent torrent tracker search-engine down, as the site gets new digs, a new server package, and a new lease on life north of the border....TAKE THAT MPAA!

Last Tuesday I reported how isoHunt, the longtime search-engine staple of the BitTorrent community, got shut down after it's ISP's lawyers called it quits and bowed down before the mighty MPAA legal team.

The subject of a lawsuit by the MPAA since last February, which included Torrentspy and eDonkey among others, it was finally been done in by the lawyers of it's very own ISP.

After about a week or so of work the site has moved northward to the land of hockey, and well, hockey, to find a news safe haven away from the dreaded MPAA hit squads.

The good news, aside from their newfound freedom, is that thanks in part to the generous donations of users, some $6700 USD and counting, is that they were able to upgrade their server hardware and bandwidth for newfound "multi-homed connectivity" which will now guarantee "close to 100% uptime."

It will still be a little while before they get fully settled in however, and their site states that "Half the new servers are down due to driver/kernel problems" in the meantime.

Either way, it's nice to see them back on the BitTorrent scene.

As one guy in their forums wrote, "Long Live isoHunt!"

It just shows that mpaa/riaa have their hands tied with p2p technology, especially with torrents... They are obviously stupid enough to think that trackers actually host applications, games etc. that are described in torrent files...
