I recently clicked on a link (http://www.p2pnet.net/story/11057) posted by dubstylee (http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/search.php?do=finduser&u=3) and learned from another site (http://www.dionysians.org/forum/showthread.php?t=985) that Jon Newton had been sue'd for libel.

Curious, I did a google news search for 'Nikki Hemming' (without quotes) and found oddly enough NO search results..so I tried a web search and found this (http://www.sharmannetworks.com/content/view/full/215/)

Nikki Hemming (CEO)

I won't post an image...spooky.

now to pre-empt remarks as to the 'sensationalised' title of this thread. The title was chosen because if I had made any criticism concerning the ceo of sharman networks (notice not referred to by name) the remarks along with posting of an image of her might be considered 'disparaging' and could get zeropaid sue'd on same basis as Jon Newton.

Does anyone have any information about the outcome of this lawsuit?

While I'm not sure about that one I'm remaining vigilant for use of the word "prick".

The libel laws of Canada and the United States are very different. American publishers are protected by laws that Canadians do not have.

In the United States, the plaintiff has the burden of proof. In Canada, the defendant does. Zeropaid and other web publications based in the United States have a ton of leeway when it comes to these type of things...

okay just found the follow up to thread posted above: link (http://www.p2pnet.net/story/9333) looks like that lawsuit was dropped however litigation may still be imminent in the result of this (http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/the-lounge/t-who-are-these-zp-people-page3-41271.html#post467317) case against zeropaid.

edit What about posting pictures of [censored] is that permitted?

lasted edited by soulxtc a few minutes ago (and then reedited again :P :drunken_s)
