Real media is a proprietary format. You will need to convert it to another format (try mpg) in order to edit it in MovieMaker. Use Google or Yahoo! and search for info to convert real media to mpg.

basically real is about as crappy as quicktime and wmv

steer clear of all three if u want hassle free viewing, editing etc

if the file is in the library that just means that realplayer knows where it is

ure the search function of windows to find it then simply drag to where u want it

Thanks SilentScream..
Well This is where I am at..
I uninstalled RealPlayer and Now have the file on inside MyMusic..So I see the file
I have itunes/quicktime installed.. and yes SilentScream I know what you are thinking..
So what should I do from here?
Uninstall bothe Apple products..
Then what? Which player would I use, and do I convert the file by renaming it?

One of the problems are that the file will want to be opened with the same program that created it..

why did you remove those programs? All he said was the format is not a good format. Those programs are fine to use... Just convert the video to mpeg or something... sheesh!

EDIT: just fyi guys, he never ever said that the file was a Real media file. So be sure not to assume that sort of thing! so newbie in need:what format is the file?

Well, many of the commercial products offer a free trial version. If that doesn't work, well....this is a file sharing portal. You can look for the products on BitTorrent, newsgroups, or your favorite file sharing program.

True...good point. The whole "Have a file in realplayer...and I have the file in my realplayer library..." sure implies a real media format, but you are right that it could be something else. :icon_thum
