I was cleaning out the excess dust on my comp then on the inside when it was knocked over. It didnt look like nothing was damaged but then I noticed one of the chipset came off. I checked the comp everything is working except its hella slow when alotta progs in the background & restarts when I try to play some videos. I was already thinking of upgrading some parts such as my memory not to upset but imma noob far the motherboards & the whole setup of them. What should I look for far as motherboards & memory?

heres a quick report far as my current motherboard, etc

So . . wtf does "I noticed one of the chipset came off" mean?

Does it have a number on it? Pins? What size is it? Do you have a picture of it?

Do you mean heatsink?

Describe it in detail, or take your PC to a shop.

"some black thingy" isnt going to cut it for a description.

LMAO... The chipset came off and now the pc is a little slow.

I think the piece you are referring too is the heatsink not the chipset. The heatsink is the raised metal part that is placed on the chip to conduct the heat away from it. Was it the heatsink for the cpu or the heatsink for the Northbridge that came loose?

After he added the pic and extra verbiage, it would seem the heatsink came off, esp if it is that large and the case fell over. The symptoms can also be the same if the chipset is overheating.
