i enjoyed immencely tossing my explosive-laden old machine out of an abandoned warehouse window and watch it sail, flaming into the nite. the amount of stress and frustration it caused was immediately diffused whilst the perfum of burning integrated-circuits teased my nostrails.....


...woah...what a dream. i thought i got a new computer......where am i???

Be sure to remove your power supply or discharge the capacitors before smashing, they hold enough of a charge to kill you. If your hammer conducts electricity or you damage the casing in a way to charge it all you could get the sock of your life.

I've smashed 1 SNES controller, 3 N64 (they were cheap quality anyway), 1 PSone, 1 Gamecube, and 1 actual Gameboy Color...

but a computer? Not yet.

I never have smashed a whole PC, since I take out the parts, the drives and memory and such. That's because as the machine gets older, I get new drive, memory, video updates to get more life out of it.

We found a huge IBM printer in my friend Hobnose's storage. We dragged it outside and Hob hit it with a sledge, BAM! and woofed "FATAL ERROR"

I wish I had that on video!

I'm about ready to do that to my current computer... It seems like as soon as I fix one problem, a new one will begin to manifest....oh well. .I can't wait to build a new one!

I give up. I've spent about 10 minutes looking through google and I've found nothing to back that up. Any link?

I know a sufficient capacitor could do that, but I can't see those capacitors being able to do that.

It was in my local paper about a year ago, a guy in my city died from it. He was old tho. It wont necessarily kill you but it can. The reason its a danger is because it does not take a large charge to throw your heart out of rhythm, im not sure what the numbers are but its a surprisingly small charge..

That's actually fairly true, the voltage isn't what kills people. Threats to your heart rythym are dependant on the amperage.

I'm wondering if the guy in your local paper was still plugged into the wall.

Back on topic..

I smashed my very first comp (from 1992 or 1993 IBM PS/1!) last year. I took it to the garbage dump during free dumping days - haha, free dumping days. Anyways, the place where you were to put your old computers for disposal was paved with concrete. When the garbage guys weren't looking, I climbed the surrounding concrete brick wall and had my friend pass me the CPU and Monitor up.
I never knew dropping a computer from perhaps 20 feet onto cement would be so satisfying. However, it was topped when I dropped the monitor!
