what are you're thoughts on it? i am happy with windows xp, i really don't see a need to get this though. unless windows media center is different from the usual windows os.

it sounds like a good idea but microsoft supposedly isn't going to sell it as a stand alone product, but always bundled with a new pc. i could understand that because it would suck if you don't have a tv tuner card or internet.

i dont see a good reason to upgrade especially if it is bundled with a new pc. i'll stick with windows xp thank you.

from what ive heard, this new version is a pirates worst nightmare, you can rip backups, record live tv, even download full movies, then you can burn them to a dvd

sounds good right?

nope, you can only use that backup dvd on THAT computer, if you reload windows, guess what, its a new computer, your backups are lost

if have the same version on another computer, you cant pop the dvd in both drives and have it work, it only works on the os you burned it on

stick with xp
