$50.00 for a game is way to steep! even used games are $20.00! But I geuss we will have to never worry about Video games going away.

next to computing, which is my first hobby, and a computer geek, i also play a lot of video games. my favorite game right now would have to be Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3, NBA 2K3 is pretty good too.

Are you going to try the new tony hawk 4? It looks really good. But they picked a bad time to release it becouse of vice city!

For the most part, I'm more interested in the technology behind the games, although some open-ended stuff, like the GTA series, is great. I used to be a total game geek but got tired of being led through storylines...Oh yeah, has anyone played the leaked Doom3 beta?

Hello, I have a lifelong obsession with video games. I can't stop playing.

Systems (In order):

Atari2600 (I love Haunted House and Circus Atari--I can take on all takers in Circus Atari, you bitches)

ColecoVision (okay--wierd layout of the controller)

Intellivision (emulated via 2600)
(freakiest damn controllers; like a disc for a stick--what was with that)

Odyssey2 (I found it in the trash--who would throw one of these out?)

Then came the video game crash of 1984-1985... when no systems came out and games were less than a buck and nobody still bought them (damn E.T. Video Game)

NES (bad-ass system--great games--Zelda, Metroid, Contra, Metal Tank, 1943, Bionic Commando, and on and on)

SNES (I bought mine before they came out in the rest of the US since I live in Washington--some of the best games ever--Super Metroid, Zelda III, FFII and FFIII, Actraiser, Super Mario Kart, Uniracers, Super Punch Out)

Genesis (really bad colors--I have never been a fan of anything Sega)

Gameboy (fun as hell and got a Metroid game as well as several Zelda games)

PSX (I swapped my SNES and three games to buy this the day it came out for $100.00 less--imagine, what now costs less than $50 cost $300)

The PSX has the best games period
Metal Gear Solid
FFVII
FFIX
Twisted Metal
Castlevania SOTN
Jesus, I wouldn't be able to stop

Gameboy Color (they really put this out and only a few games since they soon after went to the GBadvance)

PS2 (Pretty good games and system, I use it as a DVD player too because I am very cheap)

GameCube (only one game so far, Mario Sunshine, but next week is RE0 and the week after that -- Metroid Prime. Definite potential)

Oh Yeah, I also had a Commodore Amiga (awesome system--great games) and have a PC right now, but the PC doesn't have that many fun games (but they do have awesome emulators that I can play my old favorites on that are higher resolution and with saves)

I am now in college and have to put off games, but I still play far too often (I am an addict).

Great list man....all classic except for PS2/Gamecube

I left out FF7....I'm such a dumb shit LOL I played that game so much.....well I played it A-fucking-LOT by the end I had 9999 HP and I could kick Seph's ass with just the sword and no cures/heals......do some real damage with his 4x cut too.....and the his finishing move.....HAHAHAHA....could wipe out a flock of those little troll's with the lights in one shot......kinda got boring once you could kill everything with one hit....anyway that game was the greatest for PSX......I mean the graphics were pretty lame.....but it kept you wanting more....odd.....(From what I've checked out the PSX was pushing it's limits with FF7....Aeries was like some crazy 60some thousand polygon per second deal...so it does seem pretty good for it's time)

OK OK enough FF7 memorys...

I think I played a few rounds on one of those Magnavox - Odyssey2's......was it red with a switch to go between a tank game/ping pong/ and some odd version of ping pong?

Ever played the original pong? LOL My father has one from his teen years.....fun stuff till you get a headache.....

Most of the Final Fantasy games and almost all the Zelda games....have to be tops on my list...Zelda 2 blew though.....so did FF8.....

Anyway I'm done ranting/spouting off about my youth....

BTW: Emulators rule.....I think I have every one ever made on this one P2 system I have set up.....pop on a set of headphones and tune out to Zelda/Ducktails/ect tunes...obviously while I play....ahhh I so wanna be 7 or 8 again.....childhood ruled....no work nothing but fun.....

Peace all, Later

Yeah, I hear you in regards to the PS2...I wish it had more great games...it does have gta3 and such, although I prefer those games on comp (better control)...I really only use my PS2 to play an occasional game or DVD...I recently bought a new connector for my NES (the part the games are stuck into) so that I could play games again without the incessant blue/red/rainbow blinking screen stuff...$10 and it works great! :-P [end advertisement] It's funny how NES games cost more than PS games do at used game stores (Gamestop etc)...A used PSX is $29 while a used NES is 49.99, the same as a dreamcast! I was looking for this old RPG called Crystalis (childhood memories) and it's 14.99! They're starting to appreciate in value...Ahh....the days where the main character on the label on the game cart looked nothing like the blocky pile of pixels in the game....haha....Nowadays, games bore me...I don't like traversing pre-contructed plots.....Really, I'm only looking forward to playing Doom3 and Vice City on PC...

Oh yeah, and CCSDUDE, I remember when I got SMB3 in the mail as a birthday present....I was going crazy...I played it forever...That was a great game...I remember my cousin coming over and showing me all these magic whistles and I was flipping out that you could skip entire worlds..

Anyways, favorite childhood gaming memories (in no particular order):
Jumping aboard those airships in SMB3
Playing SMB1 for the first time.
The smell of the packaging from my NES
Playing Crystalis and getting the ice sword, opening up many new paths, only to have my NES decide not to play the game anymore....wuh-wuh... :-P
Playing Contra with my cousin...so much fun...I was haunted by the awesomeness of that game all the way home...
being scared of Zelda for the NES (weird gold cartridges)
Playing Street Fighter2 Turbo for the first time at the roller rink arcade
SNES getting dissed by all the Genesis owners in my elementary school...me secretly plotting to kill them all for their blasphemy (j/k)
Duck Hunt and Numerous Assasination Attempts on that dog
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (and the instant jokes on its name: Donkey Shlong Country 2: Diddy's Shlong Quest)

Wow...that's all I can think of right now....ahhh...memories...But as I said, I really don't play games anymore (cept for GTA)...

SMB3 moment.....getting that one suit that changed you into a stone Thai-looking statue.....I loved that suit LOL

Duckhut....has to be trying to kill that snickering bastard of a dog......

Shit when it came to Zelda - first one....my father played it just as much as me.....! Had to drag him away from it sometimes.....still have my Nintendo and all my cart's....I'll never sell 'em!

How about bomberman? Ever beat it? So simple yet so much damn fun! I mean they made #2 and tons more....but #1 will always be the best even if it had lame graphics that came so close to Atari.....that you almost couldn't tell the difference. I beat that thing way to many times.....now I'm sick of it! LOL I remember finishing it the first time and being all pissed cuz the ending was lame as hell - he walks along some brick shit while words scroll up the screen saying you've freed him and he's human now.....bah! What a waste of time I thought to myself as I hit reset......obviously it wasn't the last time I played....

Ninja Gadien? Man.....those games were odd yet fun yet annoying...yet still fun.....

What about Roadblaster? I have that one too......I remember I begged and begged to get it....back when a new Nintendo cart was 60+.......LOL

I WANT MY FUCKING CHILDHOOD BACK!

*goes off to listen to the song "83" *

Go check it out.....good childhood song...

Borgster: I wouldn't have it anyother way man! If I started off with PS2 as a child....I wouldn't have learned that I don't need to play a game with 3 million polygons per ms to actually enjoy the game. Go out and pick up a used Nintendo and some classics like

SMB1
SMB2
SMB3
Ducktails #1
Roadblaster - by Atari not data east....
Zelda 1 and maybe 2 if you like to get pissed off.....
Ninja Gadien......1 2 and 3
Theres way more....I'll edit later when I get a nice biiiiiiiiiig list worked up.

BTW Original pong games are prolly worth more then a PS2 LOL......and hell...it's pretty fun if you sit down with some bud's smoke alittle pot and start playing....you don't even notice that it's just a white ball with 2 while sticks for paddles.

Jared592

Here's some of the NES games I played to death:
Kirby's Adventure
Blaster Master
SMB 1-3
Crystalis
Contra
Rad Racer 2
Bayou Billy (This game sucked and was hard as hell)
RC Pro-Am
Duck Hunt
Silk Worm (Pain in the ass shooter where the jeep could jump)

Those are just the ones I remember... Were games really 60+ dollars then CCSDUDE? I always wondered how much NES games cost back then....I never played Bomberman...just never came across it back then...I remember having an Apple monitor (the type that only displayed shades of green) that had a RCA input for video in the back and that's it...I remember playing Kirby through that occasionally, hooking up the sound through an old stereo...I think maybe I thought it was a cool effect...

It's pretty small....round 5inches......

The original price along with the SVHS I picked up was around 5,000.....so yeah pretty bad LOL wasted alot of hard earned/saved cash on it.....but the SVHS player rocks......Sony SVHS 9000......slick player.....but I'd have to spend like a crapload of cash to get the recording card.....yeah they sell it in parts LOL I picked it up with playback and counter.....record was extra so no go at the time, now the damn card cost to damn much.....

Downsides to it are.....the SIZE....it's huge....and I can't record with it...

Upsides are it looks cool as hell - like right out of a TV studio....
And it has the cleanest FF and RW with this jog wheel.....

WHAT?!?! Have you ever played Super Smash Bros. Melee?? Or how about Eternal Darkness (INSTANT CLASSIC)?!?! Or how about Resident Evil Zero???? Jesus man you are missing out!

I am a video game nut as well. I love it! I am an addict!!

Top games that I have the best memories from and had the most fun with:

Zelda 1 & 2 on the NES

Zelda 3 (A Link To The Past) on the SNES

Gameboy/Gameboy Color Zeldas

Both N64 Zeldas

Every Resident Evil to ever come out except for the Survivor series

Lunar Silver Star Story & Eternalblue (the PS-X remakes)

Megaman Legends 1 & 2

Parasite Eve 1 & 2

Final Fantasy 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and the gameboy classics

Oddworld 1 & 2 (the X-Box version wasn't really that good to me)

Crash Bandicoot 1,2,3, and Crash Team Racing (that stupid Mario Party rip off and the one for PS-2 sucked)

And many, many, many more.

EDIT: I just noticed you spoke of RE0 already.. oops lol

Not at all.....I'm just getting really sick of all the chicks I know bitching about a problem then not taking good sound advice.....then when I give them reasons why they should do this or that to get themseleves out of a jam they start bitching me out! It's really annoying.....I don't hate 'em, in fact I love 'em as friends...but it gets old.

As for being with someone.....god borgster....money isn't even the half of it.......they'll drain you....in every way possible. Most don't try to drain you but they do it anyway.....guess having double X's or Y's (forget which) will fuck up the balance.....guys have one of each...we can cope with fucked up situations and learn when to give up and stop trying to get something. Chicks don't (from what I've dealt with) they'll always try there could be no chance in hell but they'll try. An the kicker is it's almost always selfish shit....so they never get anything done to help anyone other then themseleves! Since they can't even help themseleves there fairly useless.... I'm reminded of the classic joke "What's the useless skin around a pussy? The bitch" when I think of some of the girls I've been around in my time on this earth.

I'm sure that sounds like a women haters manfesto...but it's not. It's just what I've observed from being around 'em. So Gor please chill on the women hater shit.....I don't hate them.

CCs, have you examined what you are saying? To lump all women together in this category by the observations you have created from a select few is a serious logical error. You cannot go from specific to general in this way due to the fact that this is not a representative (or large enough) sample from which to generalize.

This attitude towards women is analogous to the mindset that leads to bigotry (i.e. there is a high percentage of ethnic minorities in jail; therefore, all members of an ethnic minority are criminals). Perhaps these females that you have dealt with are just this way and are in no way representative of all womanhood. I have met many a female that is clear and level-headed in my day.

Still, women and men think differently. Women have more interconnectedness through their corpus callosum therefore allowing them to move more easily between hemispheres of the brain. Women, through the manner in which they are raised, through their secondary status designated in society and their intrinsic differences in the functioning of their brains think differently than men. You must appreciate that women focus more on connections than men and relate differently to people.

You need to relate to women in a different way, because the problem is more than likely the way that you view them.

Perhaps you should say, "I think this person is worthless, and they just happen to be a woman." I know a great number of men that I regard with fear and loathing, yet I do not generalize these outliers as indicators of the traits of the group as a whole.

I have read a great number of your threads CCS (it is hard not to) and I have picked up on a theme that you have a lower opinion of women, probably due to your interactions of the past. I recommend that you evaluate why you have these feelings and try to expand your consciousness to exclude this prejudice, allowing you to view the world without the skewed lens. (plus, don't be so sensitive to what your sexuality is, anyone that calls you a "fag," or uses that word for that matter is a fucking imbecile and attacks a person out of fear of their own homosexuality, religious zealotry or insecurity)

I was watching Jerry Springer once and there was a dude that was fed up with "Bitchs" and he started screwing his mom. Should we worry?

Level headed as always Wingnut - seriously you'd make a great mod if you had the time.

I guess I didn't write that in an understandable manner...I don't hate them and I don't think there all like that....I'm just speaking of the ones I've been around. So some day I may find some great chick who doesn't have 1 bit of that in her. And the fag comment was just to be funny....Will Rae has a demented sense of humor so I figured he'd play the homosexual card....I for one don't care if someone calls me a fag/homo/flamer/queer it's all just bull since I know I'm not....and even if I was it wouldn't bother me since I'd already know that person to be a close minded biggot. In fact it would help to be called a fag! You'd know right off the bat who was cool and who wasn't.

Gor: I don't like 'ultra young asian girls"
I just find asian girls to look better then the rest....it's taste not age. Everyone has there own taste....so whats yours?

Borgster: I haven't seen your avatar yet seeing as you posted right when I hit post reply. But I'll check it out right now.

Edited for cussing.....

Borgster: Nice....I'm so sick of DBZ though....the buu saga just drained my enjoyment.

BTW: I'll try and cut down on the cussing....old habits are hard to break.

wonders if CCSDUDE can make a post without using the f-word or other profanities so damn much. Seriously every post i see of theirs has some sort of cursing it even though there isnt a real need for it.

I cuss a lot.

As for the young people in the audience, I'm guessing that they are old enough to know all these words. You should hear my 12 year old brother speak - he's got a worse pottymouth that I do. And I don't think that there's anyone younger than that on ZP.

So, if you feel the urge to let a swearword loose, go ahead. It's okay. We're here for you.

And, yes, women are disciples of Mephistopheles. PROVE ME WRONG, DAMMIT!
