i need to transfer a whole bunch of files from my desktop comp. to my laptop. now i have a USB transfer chip but i dont know where it is so thats out. the only other thing i have is something called Laplink. thats installed by floppy disk..and i dont have a floppy drive on my desktop comp. i have one for my laptop but i dont see where it fits into..it came w/the laptop but i see no holes/sockets where it would go...ive tried You Send it website but that takes a while. is there anything else quicker than yousendit.com? also you send it only lets me do one file at a time for free..i dont think itll take a whole folder full of files. btw the files are definitely too big for my email services.

Make two screen names on some chat network. Send to yourself.

This is the super lame way I do things.

You should wait for a better response...

also i cant use the net on both computers at the same time. so that might be a problem.

You can use ethernet crossover cable to connect two computer together, then use Microsoft Windows to configure your network for transfering files between computers. http://www.homenethelp.com/network/ethernet.asp

You could compress your folders into zip files and then try YouSendIt. Other than that, try one of the two options directly above.

Gees people, use a crossover cable, thumbdrive or removeable storage.
