nah sorry microsoft will have it's way u can't go back.. sooner or later u will be forced to update or else things will become unfunctionable. i hate that cd burning thing too. but just use winamp or another programs for your needs.

Microsoft's too much propietary... you can't go back.
You should better use something as BSPlayer for MP3 and audio and Zoom Player for videos...
And any other software for burning audios CDs...
Or even use WMP 8 with the above mentioned players...
I would do that if I'd really care about the burning capabilities of WMP8+
hope that helped

well like i use WMP 8 but the one and only thing that just pisses me off is how small the seek bar is. i know it is a small thing....but it is just annoying. i want a seek bar that goes across the screen. i know that it sounds stupid but its really bothersome. i only watch videos on it, but it pisses me off

Ya i totally agree with you. I think Microsoft have got the point and they have included a long seek bar with forward and rewing function in the new WM9, but WM9 will be released with .NET Server 2003, so wait for it. If you wanna use WM9 now then check the betas or the RC version but i have tried betas they SUCK! but if you have any problems opening a file in WM9 and its not opening the file in the playlist just right click the file and click on play in the playlist. As for the RC version i havent tryed it yed coz i hate system restore and you cannot unistall WM9 on XP system add\remove program (this should be a BUG too :shy )

yea that stupid small seek bar just makes me angry. that is pretty Nazi like to not allow us to uninstall the WMP or even D/L WMP 8. i dont see why they cant put WMP 8 up for download but only make it work for XP. like say i wanted to try out WMP 9, but then didnt like it and wanted to go back. it would be infinitely easier to just uninstall WMP 9 and reinstall WMP 8 without using the system restore. anyways, they should change that stupid seek bar

New is never the best.... new=new bugs to find to me.....
I'm sticking with WMP6.4 and I can safely say it works 100% on WinME......
Microsuck likes nazi control over you......so never buy a new OS....go back to 2k/ME/98/95 or switch to linux.....that'll show 'em if enough people stop buying there goose stepper crap.
