Genre Question

I've noticed a few discussions of rapidshare, megaupload, and others here, but what (for lack of a better word) is that genre of file sharing called? It's file sharing but not really p2p.

one-click?

DDL (direct download link?) ?

It's not really newsgroups but seems to bear more similarities to them than most of the p2p programs.

I guess you can call it Web2Peer, since anyone with web browser can download it. Maybe, someone knows the correct term for it!

that would remind me a bit of a cross between bittorrent and ftp what do you guys think

I don't really see the link between those the rapidshare type of sites and bittorrent, I can kinda see the link between that an an FTP though.

There was got to be some kind of proper terminolofy for this type of thing....
