I turned on my computer this evening and all I got was a blank screen after windows started. No icons or nothing, I put in my windows XP operating system disk and clicked on additional tasks and then browse this CD and everything came back, can anyone please help me correct this, I don't want to have to put in the operating system disc everytime I start my computer. I would appreciate any help. When I use safe mode the icons appear.

Sounds like a Master Boot Record problem, here's what to do...

Use these links to find out how to run/install the XP Recovery Console. After you do this, run it and launch the FIXMBR and FIXBOOT commands, then restart your computer and try again. This should solve it.
