Release Notes:

Rod Stewart returns to his roots with the release of Still The Same...Great Rock
Classics Of Our Time, a landmark recording of great rock songs and Stewart's
first rock album in over 8 years. Still the Same...Great Rock Classics Of Our
Time is an incredibly strong and passionate return to form. Stewart takes
ownership of these thoughtfully selected tracks crafted by some of the best
songwriters of our time, including Bob Dylan's "If Not For You," Van Morrison's
"Crazy Love," Bob Seger's "Still the Same," and the first single: John Fogerty's
"Have You Ever Seen the Rain." Other selections like Bonnie Tyler's "It's a
Heartache" and Elvin Bishop's hit "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" perfectly
complement Stewart's signature and incomparable voice.

Produced by John Shanks (winner of the 2005 "Producer of the Year" Grammy award,
who has worked with such artists as Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge), Still
The Same...Great Rock Classics Of Our Time features a great band of top notch
musicians including Kenny Aronoff and Dean Parks. The versatility of its
production is displayed in sounds ranging from the soaring Badfinger hit "Day
After Day" to the most contemporary song included, the Pretenders' ballad "I'll
Stand By You."

Still The Same...Great Rock Classics Of Our Time is sure to follow in the
unprecedented success of the four volumes that comprise his Grammy-award winning
"Great American Songbook" series.

This is just "copycat" music to me. Don't get me wrong, those songs are great rock classics, but I simnply like the original artist that made them famous singing them. Most people also are used to hearing the original artist singing them because they grew up with those songs.

It simply seems that no one today in the music industry or movie industry has enough creativity anymore to come out with something new and original. As I posted earlier...it seems that originality is out and copying older works is in.

ITs always gonna be for the Rod stewart fans. If you dont like the original artist get it, but i do like the Pretenders and Ill stand by you only sounds good when they sing it. Im sure hell make more disc of this series.. I think if he could take the older and not so good songs and turn them into something, it be alot better. There are alot of people that have released songs that need a better voice to carry it. Some are great, some arent. Track 2 is probably the best one on there.

PS.. give it time, depends on peoples newsgroup service. Giganews usually gets it faster then alot of sites, but depends on which one people post with.

Don't get me wrong. Rod could rock back in the day. Early and mid 70's, mostly.

R: Poop pants.
J: You pooped your pants? Nurse, Mr. Stewart has apparently pooped his pants.
N: Again? Now, Mr. Stewart, what did we say about trying to hold in Mr. Dookie?
