Came across a cool link with a flow chart detailing how diffrent programs slow down Windows OS.
Has everything from Norton to uTorrent on it.

Its usually people buying a PC for the first time and it comes pre-installed......the name "security suite" makes them feel safe.

Nope...just idiots like me whom its been reliable for for many years. Then again, I did "buy" the PC for the first time, but that was only the latest (ka-ching!). The rest were hand-me-downs or hand-me-overs. But I always maintained and updated Norton.
Security Suite, Smecurity suite...

I have never had a reason for virus protection.. It just slows down the computer!
All I have to do is never open exe files from unknown sources. And voila no problemo :D I have never had any sort of malware besides spyware so I just use spybot search and destroy sometimes.
I have a general feeling that if you get more than one virus in your lifetime, you shouldn't be allowed to touch a computer..
Flame away folks, I stand by my feelings. Viruses are made by lamers for lamers :P
btw if this post is out of line... I will allow someone else to step in and tell me :P
