I'm looking for a new music player. Foobar is failing me (it refuses to cooperate, it resets to the default crap look all the time, no longer works with last fm and crashes from time to time) so I need to replace it. I'm looking for something thar can handle a huge library 20,000+ songs and can sort the library by directory structure instead of tags as all my music is organized as I'd like the library to reflect it. I've tried WMP11 but it wont seem to take that much music it just shuts off after adding about 8,000 songs to the library. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you're looking for something that's as nice to look at as it is to use, then I'd reccomend trying mp3toys. (www.mp3toys.net)

http://mp3toys.net/mp3toys_files/screens/v25-500.jpg

It has built-in support for last.fm and has the best, (read accurate) automatic cover download system I've come across. This program would make a really good home jukebox with an additional cheap touch-screen.

Myself, I'm back using winamp, can't get enough of the DFX sound enhancer, it just sounds wrong without it.

Try JetAudio (http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/jetaudio/).
I've been using it for awhile, it plays all formats including quicktime and real.
It rips and burns cds and has a built-in converter it can change most formats.
It has a free basic version and a plus version with extra features.
It comes with many skins and toolbars you can download free.
No adware or spyware!

Thanks.:icon_salu

Is there any way for Windows Media Center to support directory file structure instead of tags?

Iv've actually settled in with musikCube. I'd reccomend it. So far I'm loving it. Even if it lacks directory support

How many tracks are you trying to manage black magiic? I think I found an answer to my own question in that MCE does not support directory structure for My Music. Only tag based.... which is retarded because My Pictures and My Videos is directory based.

I'm trying to manage a 10000+ track music collection and MCE is just deplorable. The standard Windows Explorer is a better way to manage it than MCE. I refuse to go though and re-tag everything just to conform to MCE.

I am looking for a multimedia player for myself... I would want something nearly as feature full as WMP... if there is such a thing... I just want it to play like every type of media ;)

I'm working with 19,179 songs.

So are they all tagged properly? How are managing that if you don't have directory support?

black_magiic

they're tagged perfectly. However I spent like a span of two weeks a year ago meticulously sorting them into a well organized folder structure. The reason I prefer directory over tags is simply because I have a ton of big Various Artist compilation things like the Time Life boxsets and such. And it drives me nuts having like 1500 artists with one song each

Yup, and besides when I sort by artist, MCE creates 4 folders... one for 2PAC, one for 2 Pac, one for Tupac, and one for Tupac Shakur.

Totally lame.

So if musikcube doesn't have directory support, how do you handle your individual artists? Just deal with it?
