BitComet is a powerful, clean, fast, and easy-to-use bittorrent client. It supports simultaneous downloads, download queue, selected downloads in torrent package, fast-resume, chatting, disk cache, speed limits, port mapping, proxy, ip-filter, etc.

I used it for a short time and it was pretty cool but I don't think it supports super-seeding.

On version 0.67 or .0.68 BitComet was banned from some private trackers because it was ignorning the private flags and sharing sources with DHT.

BitComet released the next version quickly and fixed the private flag problem. Most private trackers removed the bans on BitComet.

BitComet was only banned from some private trackers for a short time, BitComet was never banned from
public trackers.

Since then other clients like Azureus has been banned from private trackers for other reason like cheating
on upload ratio.

I have been using BitComet for awhile now and not once has any tracker banned me.

So people need to get rid of the myths about BitComet getting banned!!

Isn't Oink the one of the websites that also banned Azureus?

I know Oink really sucks, they are too strick and remove members for no reasons.
And they never accept new members, although they are good at banning the members they have.

I have read many posts about members complaining about how Oink operates and their strick policies.

There are many better private trackers available with better policies.

Oink hasn't banned Azureus (only older versions of it), in fact it's actually recomended.

Some Windows clients we can recommend (in alphabetical order):

* ABC
* Azureus
* BitTornado
* BitTorrent
* µTorrent

Sorry, but unless you are or have been a member first hand, I don't think you're in the best position to comment on their policies. (no offence).

What I mean specifically, is reading on forums, more often than not you'll only hear from the people that have been banned, or have a gripes with the site, VS the 80,000+ people that haven't been banned.

There are many better private trackers available with better policies. I've yet to find one. (filemp3, ha!)

Cheers.

I'm still a member of Oink, but I haven't used it in awhile now. And yes I do know at first hand about their
stupid policies banning members, BT clients, upload ratios, etc. I'm a member of many private torrent websites which are much better than Oink and have better content to download.

At one time I know that Oink banned uTorrrent for some stupid reason, but then after uTorrent was updated they removed the uTorrent ban. I also remember reading that Azureus was ban at one time for faking upload ratios, but after a new version was released the ban was removed also. Look up "Oink" on Sylck, that's where I read it.
