A modern stealth gunboat was supplied to the Russian Navy in St. Petersburg Friday, RIA Novosti news agency reports.

Built at St. Petersburg’s Almaz shipyard, the Astrakhan will be the first in the navy warship to have stealth capabilities and can be armed with various artillery systems previously used only on destroyers.

“Our country is still capable of building combat ships without outside assistance and there is no doubt it will be in the future,” Navy Commander Vladimir Masorin said.

Astrakhan would operate in the Caspian Flotilla, commander added.

Almaz is one of Northwest Russia’s leading shipyards. It was established in 1901 and has built more than 1,000 missile and patrol boats for the Russian Navy and Coast Guard and foreign clients since then. Sales in 2005 were more than 1.7 bln rubles ($61.46 million).

1- I'm no fan of russia; 2-I'm no fan of any other "superpowers"
Whilst Russia was in main superpowers lot less crap was happening-3. All countrys are tend to make themselfs "secure" by having advanced weapons-4.
Some of them are known knowns, some are unknown knowns... Stealship?- fair play, ultrasonic Submarine detection devices (invented by russians, abandoned) are still being used by States... the ones that are kiling dolphins and Whales on a masive scale- that is the one that I could not justify

Why have flying saucers and shit. At area 51 theyre always testing them out. All the saucers have death rays and are powered by dilithium crystals. Not to even mention project "Death Star" Raygun had built back in the 80's. Its actually disguised as our moon which they blew up (in the day time so no one would notice) to make way for this giant weapon.

Maybe we dont have enough "green men" to pilot them all.............

Sure there is lasers that the US posses for land air and sea...

I've seen em in action on the discovery channel, as well as many other directed energy wepons.

You'd be supprised actually many moons ago there was a guy that went by the name Nikola Tesla (possibly differnt spelling) any how he patanted and offered the government these type of directed energy weponry in the late 1800's early 1900's...

And supposedly the newest greatest jet series is the Joint Strike Fighter JFS for short there are many variations for every branch of the military also able and is only the second vertical takeoff jet designed, though I use that term lightly cause most likely theres more that are not known of and ... Really I think a problem is that the only prototypes we see are the ones that are already to be massively produced and with that said if there being massively produced the next best thing is already being worked on.

It is my belief that there are other designs that are just posibly not cost affective or needed. It is the art of war never to devaulge you're bleeding edge weapons unless its absolutely nessacary nor use them in combat incase an enemy captures and reverse engineers you're design it is ever so important to keep the upper hand. Anyone should know that.

I've heard and seen many far out of the scope films and no matter how far out of the scope some may be I tend to keep and open mind that it is a possibility. Suppression is the age and rule we live under today and have lived under for the last century or so.
