George Thorogood (I hate George Thorogood but I had my reasons)
.
I used to like him better live than his studio stuff. He used to play great 3 chord rock before he changed the bands name and tried to get fancy.
Nothing worse than a clunky rythymn player trying to play lead and sing. You have to be an outstanding vocalist with excellent range to pull that off and most are one or the other.(Great lead or vocals)

There are probably a 100 or more bands that I can't remember (lots of (GOOD) drugs-with a cumulative affect on my memory) right off hand but the list provided wasn't bad. Some of those acts (like Pink Floyd) were so awesome (and expensive (light, effects and sound system)) that you probably will never see anything like them again (at least for quite awhile). Some bands like the Grateful Dead were sound innovators that brought whole new sound systems into being (some proved good-some not so good). A great example would be their "wall of sound" speaker array. Great concept but turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. Or 8 track and beyond mixing boards. Got to see a lot of evolution in the industry.
I worked for Bill Graham (Uncle BoBo) in various capacities over the years. The pay was never great but the benefits!! O the fringe benefits!!! You can imagine.

saw him a few years back. jann arden opened for him, and i wish it had been the other way around. she pumped up the crowd, had everyone laughing and dancing..... then he came out and promptly put everyone to sleep. which baffles me, because he has a lot of high-energy, hard-driving songs, but it just seemed like he was wired and tired and didn't give a crap. oh well, i still like his music.

I've seen too many to mention them all. I am going to see the Stones for the second time coming up Nov.3 in Vancouver. The first time was in Buffalo, NY in 1978.
I have been very fortunate to see the Who, The Guess Who, Elton John, ELO, Frank Zappa, Led Zepplin, Alice Cooper, Neil Young, Aerosmith, SRV, Eric Clapton, Santana, Rush, and the list goes on. Those are just a few bands over the years, that I've been lucky enough to see.
