yes, i m using SG 80 gb sata, and its a new system, hdd, and motherboard and RAM are all new. I m using Intel processor 3.2 GHZ (P 4) W/o Pin, Mother Board: Intel D102ggc2 box (ATI), RAM: DDR2 (Kingston). I just cannot understand if something is conflicting or if there's any missing driver. eventhough i installed the drivers from the Drivers CD. Pls help

The only thing I can think of is you might need to install the drivers from a floppy during windows setup like useless crap said. What version of windows are you running? xp, xpsp1, or xpsp2?

i think drivers are installed for the detection of sata hdd, but if was the drivers problem, then motherboard wouldnt have detected my Sata 80 hdd even for a single time.

there's no stop error code, windows hangs up and Splash screen, where the blue coloured line scans while showing Windows XP over the back, the Windows XP splash screen wat u call. wat sort of pin u r talking about, pls specify.
