I downloaded Aquisition2 days ago and I have to say that it is by far the best P2P client I have found for mac. I selected about 12 files to download and left it running for about 20 hrs (while i slept and then wen to work). By the time i got home, I had 8 of the files which were 40 MB each.
Now here is my problem. The files are downloading to the Music folder in my home directory. Within that folder is an Incomplete folder. When I go to the incomplete folder, all the files that I am still waiting to download are still there buuuuutttttttttt................ There are other files in there also. This files include: Civ3, OS X Server and about 6 quicktime files from the MILF Hunter series. I did not EVER even search for any of the above files. So i delete all the files that are bogus. 1 minute later, they start popping back in. WTF? I deleted aquisition and the plist folder. reinstalled aquisition and the same thing happened. Why is this happening? I really don't want any prOn on my mac (thats what PCs are for lol :)) Seriously though, i don't want prOn on my mac. PERIOD. Oh yeah, I am using 10.2.1

Thanks for any help you can give.

Whats wrong with Mac? Its a much better platform than any crap the M$ has put out. Thats coming from a 20 year PC veteran.

OK. This is getting way off subject here. What i am looking for is an answer to the original post, not a debate over which OS is better (I already know the answer to that one).

Good to hear there are other Mac users here in these forums. Of course I know that the mac platform is superior to XP, so I wont waste my time debating that issue, however, it is disturbing to find so many windows zelots (or should I say brain washed teenaged adolesents?) here- but such is this world - for now. Now to your problem, if you downloaded movies and ended up with other files in your DL folder I would have to say that the movies you are Dl'ing are probably messed with porn files or you've contracted a virus. I'll put my money on the first thought. I've seen manipulated porn files that are basically spread through "big named titles" but are actually an advertisment for some site. Shady- why yes. For example ever wonder why there are so many "hits" for a search done on the name "jenna"? some of it are shitty clippings of her movies but I surmise that the majority are spam "commercials" on the gnutella. Trust me in 6 months email spam will be a memory but the real spamming will take place in places like fasttrack (kazaa) and gnutella. It will be ugly and more difficult to find stuff. But I digress. just be carful of the porn you download because it will spawn these programs in your shared folder. Of course always scan that folder for a virus but I doubt if thats the case.

good luck

Hmmm....I'm not familiar with that program but I'm curious as to whether or not it allows uploading direct to you or can use you as some kind of server. I'd check the preferences just to make sure.

P.S. You stole my avatar!!! :-P Ah well, it had a good run...
