Muslims press U.N. for truce in Lebanon

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia - The Islamic world's largest organization of countries demanded on Thursday that the U.N. implement an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon and investigate what it called flagrant human rights violations by Israel.

Leaders of key countries in the 56-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference, including Iran, Indonesia, Pakistan and Turkey, voiced strong support for the Lebanese people "in their legitimate and courageous resistance against the Israeli aggression."

"We demand that the United Nations Security Council fulfill its responsibility ... by deciding on and enforcing an immediate and comprehensive cease-fire," the OIC said at an emergency summit.

The U.N. Human Rights Council should launch "a full investigation into these criminal acts perpetrated by Israel," which include the killing of civilians and destruction of homes in Lebanon, the declaration added.

"We hold Israel responsible for the loss of lives and suffering ... and demand that Israel compensate (Lebanon) and its people for the losses sustained resulting from Israeli aggression," the leaders said.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the solution to the Middle East crisis was to destroy Israel. He also called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

However, I do think Israel should help rebuild Lebanon if they achieve their objective to establish the Hezbollah free zone. Much like U.S. help rebuild Japan, after the war!

I'm not thinking Lebanon wants Israel’s help to rebuild. They just want them to stop blowing their shit up. I agree Hezbollah should be dealt with but its obvious Israel is trying to fuck-up Lebanon as well as Hezbollah. Many of their targets are aimed squarely at the Lebanese infrastructure.

As far as Ahmadinejad calling for the destruction of Israel I say so what. He does this just about every day. Its part of his schedule. Wake up, have coffee, kiss wives goodbye, call for the destruction of Israel, have lunch with terrorists, summary executions and at 5 o’clock back home in time for Baywatch on satellite.

The difference between the leader of Israel and Iran:

Is that that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the solution to the Middle East crisis was to destroy Israel

But its just talk.

Whereas Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says the solution to the Middle East crisis is to destroy Lebanon

And he has done it.

Bridges, roads, hospitols, oil depots, air ports, women, children, Christians, Druze and most importantly as they are the most dangerous Syrian farmworkers (those farmers are so scary).*

Map of the destruction of Lebanon (http://maps.samidoun.org/lebanon_map_july12-Aug03.jpg) what is really happening not "hot air".

A picture of why you should never work on a farm in the Lebenon.*

And why you should not work for the Red Cross as apparently Israel now considers them linked to terrorist.*

BTW We were briefed yesterday by an official in charge of the humanitarian operation about how the Red Cross operates in the Lebanon and it takes 3 days to get safe passage for relief in the Lebanon. So when you see a Red Cross vehicle hit it is not because the Israeli Defense Forces don't know about it. They just are intent on prosecuting this war come what may.

Who is worse a President who produces enough hot air to melt the polar ice caps or a Prime Minister (Israel) that takes action to destroy a neighbouring country as a solution to HIS problems?
