Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (Nasdaq:SIRI - news) said on Tuesday it expected to debut a new "personal live satellite radio product" later this month.
Although it currently sells a handheld Sirius product, the current product does not let users listen to satellite radio if the device is not connected to a computer.
"Our personal live satellite radio product, Stiletto, is great," Mel Karamazin, chief executive officer of Sirius, said on a conference call. "We have been beta testing it for a few weeks and we will have it available to consumers by the end of the summer."
Separately, the company, which is under review from U.S. regulators over emissions from some of its receivers, is "expected to have greater clarity from the FCC shortly," James Meyer, Sirius president of operations and sales, told analysts.
