Im using azureus 2.4.02
linksys router
starhub online cable service in singapore
i have a 4000/256 connection
i usually get max 15k download speeds
even from the azureus update torrent
my nat test always passes and i always get the green light on torrents
however azureus tells me my DHT is firewalled
my forwarded port range is in the approved range
windows sp2 firewall disabled with half open connections set to 50
using nvidia firewall that comes with dfi lanparty boards with ports also forwaded(i tried disabling this with no diff in speed)

the thing is acouple of weeks ago whithout port forwading my speeds were great with 100k/s then for no reason it just dropped to the 15k/s now i have tried to recreate this but to no avail.

is there anything else i can do or should 1 give up
any help it really greatly appreaciated ,i have been working on countless settings reading countless guides and still same dl speeds

Maybe the torrent you are downloading doesn't have many seeders, try one wit alot. Usually the speed does take about 5 mins to pick up, so leave the torrent for a while and see if it gets better. Also try using utorrent.

With a 4MB connection, 100KB/s is not that great (unless its a public site) you should be getting c. 350KB/s

Try joining a private site, its the easiest thing in the world in determining if its seeds/leechers that aren't uploading to you or if its your firewall or ports.

dammed singapore maxonline cable service advertises it as 4megabits but in reality the max most people in singapore ever hit is about 300k kilobytes and 350kilobytes in the wee hours of the morning from http servers! its a goverment funded company and its a monopoly just like our one party goverment rulings

yup im using public sites and private trackers with very little seeders i have no invite to the good ones so ill have to deal

anyway i figured out what the problem was, the dammed nvidia firewall for the nforce 4 chipset with ethernet kept on freezing which made everything go slow even web surfing

i turned it off(i already tried port forwarding and etc on it and it didnt work) i still have my routers firewall

the wierd thing is even after turning the nvidia firewall off azureus still gave me 15k downloads but on utorrent the same torrents from the same trackers went up to 50k each with 4 files running concurrently with a cap of 25k global upload . im a utorrent convert!

anyway thx people for giving me advice ! i hope to be seeding with ya!
