Hey guys...I have a movie that is causing me grief. It's in mpeg2 and I want to burn it to dvd. I have tried a couple of encoding apps so far that suck. What works good for this?

What you didn't like about your DVD authoring programs?

Personally, I like to have my mpeg2 file with high bitrates. So, I like Tsunami MPEG DVD Author that does not take a lot of space with simple DVD menus. Then, use DVDShrink to shrink the large video to fit the blank DVD disk size!

Note: Tsunami does not make mpeg2 file(s).

Is it just me or don't MPEG2 media files play in most common DVD players?

Yep, DVD's are MPEG2 files. He justs needs a program that lets him turn it into a vob file. I use Sonic DVD to turn my recorded shows, in mpeg2 format, into dvd's. There is no need to re encode an mpeg2 file.

Nero came with my dvd burner. I like it just fine.

Okay, I tried Nero first. It created a dvd alright...just not a very good one. It did not match up audio tracks very well and the picture was not very good either. I tried Wobble mpeg video wizard, which also did not work very well. Same sort of thing. I have played the file on my computer, flawlessly, so I know it's not the file.

I will try a couple of the above mentioned. Thanks.

did you try dvd santa?

Not for this. I had dvd santa installed a while back, but didn't find it too impressive. perhaps worth trying again?

I havent used it to convert, just burn TS folder dvd movies. HUmmm.. cucusoft converter.. search on torrentspy.com for it. ITs pretty impressive in turning movies into IPOD format.
