Its not spam, found this link myself, is part of some promotion for an upcoming America's VideoGame Expo convention. You simply type in your mailing address and they sign you up for either a free monthlong or years subscription for Electronic Gaming Monthly with no strings attached, I swear.

Its optional, the page comes up because the subscription is part of promtional effort for a gaming expo, thus it then goes to ask you if u want to purcahse passes to attend it.

I didn't see any asking. It appeared that it was required to select one to continue on. Are you saying then, that I can select one and afterwards it will allow me to only get the free subscription?

No, when u submit your mailing adress that's it, that info submission automaticlaly gets u entered for the subscription, the next page merely appears as though required to be fulfilled in order for process to be finalized.

If u look at bottom of first page, it says this:

DON'T forget to register for America's VideoGame Expo after your EGM subscription order is complete! A message will appear after your free subscription confirmation directing you to your VGXPO.com registration on the next page.

Thus that implies that the first page submission completes the process by itself, no further action required, as its the second page that is the Expo registration form.

Used to have a sub for Video Games and Computer Entertainment waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day... then they split into two magazines, then Video Games became just Tips n Tricks....

got mine this week too, but it's the August issue. I think this is why it's free, they send you leftover copies of last months issues.
