prob-Directx fault-no visual's, pls

i hav a slight prob
i have installed xp pro again all sweet as except
when i wanna watch say the visuals in winamp
a message comes up

Prob with directx adapter pugin
says failed 2 initialzize
and i need 2 install something
what is it!
