From imdb....
Among normal humans live the "Others" possessing various supernatural powers. They are divided up into the forces of light and the forces of the dark, who signed a truce several centuries ago to end a devastating battle. Ever since, the forces of light govern the day while the night belongs to their dark opponents. In modern day Moscow the dark Others actually roam the night as vampires while a "Night Watch" of light forces, among them Anton, the movie's protagonist, try to control them and limit their outrage.

I watched it
It's "different"
They threw in everything but the kitchen sink with this movie, I think I even saw a green witch riding a bicycle in a tornado.
It's worth youre time, this is part one of a trilogy.
btw - it's in English, no Russian
(thank you Netflix)

After I first watched it I thought it was complete crap. After two years of reflecting on the matter... I've decided it's only mostly crap.
I have Day Watch sitting around here somewhere... one day... one day...

Krell came out of hiding! For my thread! I feel special.
I enjoyed the movie, saw it in English. I guess there is a theater in the area that played it in Russian with English subtitles. The best way for me to see a movie is to not know anything about it beforehand. That way, I have no expectations and can't possibly be let down unless it really blows. There were a few parts that I thought were cheesy, but most of that had to do with the English translations/delivery. And some parts were definitely so out-there that I wanted to punch the peope/person who wrote it.
Now about the rest of the trilogy...
