As many of you will already have noticed, the HP news section has been updated thanks to a brilliant combination of my recommendations and Jorge's hard work. The old layout was never able to fully to display a healthy amount of the wide volume of news that circulates each day, and was instead limited to a mere handful of news items.

In any event, do you think with the new HP news layout here at ZeroPaid, that in your mind, would ZP now, if it isn't already, be a primary source of your daily TECH / P2P news and information? If not then why, and what suggestions and opinions do you have that would make it so.

Your input is appreciated.

Honestly I like more... reviews. I would honestly like to see a few community members be the official zeropaid review team. So someone who likes staying up to date with hardware/software/general technology can make an official review of the item. So there'd be a reviews section on the homepage with the official reviews, and user reviews. If this has already been done and it's in my face, please tell me. I am just missing it completely

User submitted reviews sounds like an interesting idea. For one, too many programs and updates out there for us to cover entirely, so instead of covering the "big ones" exclusively we could better cover all the bases. Even perhaps link them within our program download pages. Thanks Mr. Evilemegaman.

If anyone out there is intrerested in periodically submitting such reviews please contact me:

Just be careful who you choose, some people have hidden agendas. They must be open minded and be able to halfway compose a readable post.

Guess that excludes you and and that guy who "Grabs His Haddock" (Is Grab still around?)......ha ha.....just breaking your balls......but seriously, yah, of course they will be vetted, a process to include user thoughts and opinions on the individuals chosen, that is if we deecide to proceed with this suggestion.

Must say though, personally, I rather like the idea, and would be a way of tapping that enormous pool of brainpower out there. Kind of thinking we could try making the submission process open-ended and available to all and I can then whittle them down to the ones fit for print.

BTW......STILL F@#$&-G LOVE THAT KRELL VIDEO you did......Simply "magnifico" my friend......maybe the next time you make one of these great videos you might consider writing a "behind the scenes" article on ho you did it, Im sure everyone would like to know, I know I would.......Godamm that video's still kick-ass.

Ive actually explained how I did it at least twice in PM's, not too much behind the secens other than thinking of where I wanted the story to go then doing a lot of photo work using Jasc animation, showbiz movie maker and virtual dub.

Thanks for the compliments. I have a few projects in mind but havent took the time to start them as theyre going to require a huge ammount of work.

Do you think by including a healthier variety and number of articles that are both current and relevant as the HP is now configured to do, you would be more likely to use ZP as a primary news source? Or will it take time to see if we "walk the walk and talk the talk?"

PS I take it you selected "Are You kidding me?" above.....:P

I think the lay out is aces but it will also require a steady stream of news updates before people will begin to use ZP as a source of news. I think if a little more room was given to the "Original Zeropaid News" section where small pics that go to the news articals could be placed , it would make it look even better and also grab peoples attention. People love to have a visual with their news. Perhaps making the top rated programs a tad more condensed would gain the room needed for this.

Over all, its a step in the right dirrrection, I hope the news team is up to the task at hand. As jam packed with news as the front page is I would say it looks as though they are indeed up to it.

Actuallly I come here cause of the forums. On some occassion well have the news before slyck. But I always go to slyck regardless just to see what may have came out or that zp didnt post. IF it keeps appearing on a timely basis and such, i would use zp for news. But I think they have more users who submit the news and one of the mods bump it to front page in a faster pace then here.

I use Slyck personally since it always seems to have the juciy stories on tech and p2p first. However nothing against ZP, you have good articles too but the response seems a bit slower.

Just my opinion, the forums are still great along with the software section.

If you take a look a look at the revamped HP, I now have a format to get the latest and greatest TECH and P2P news out there for you guys to check out. Still trying to find the right blend of TECH and SCI vs P2P. AS since ZP is a file-sharing site we can't make it entirely TECH and Sci, but want to keep it interesting so dont want entirely P2P as well.

Either way, I hope you like the changes and perhaps over time we can convince you that we "got the goods" when it comes to the news. Like I said before, we'll just have to "walk the walk and talk the talk" and ultimately prove our sincerity and resolve in this matter over time. I wouldnt have come here for my news either in the past to be honest, and I told Jorge and Dubstylee as much. News is like food, and people want to shop at a supermarket not a mini-mart (Great analogy heh? :) )

Anyways, hope you all like the new HP format and welcome your coments and suggestions. You the users make this site what it is, especially you forum junkies out there, and so your opinions are important to us. Drop me a PM anytime if you have a pressing problem or suggestion you'd like to see addressed as well. :icon_salu

I like using a lot of different sources to avoid bias, especially if it's a story I care about.

ZP, Lostcoders, Wired, Google News (Google Feeds in Gmail) and P2P Consortium. No real main source.

The threads alive ! Havent been on Wired in a while, seems like theres a real lag between when the news happens and when they decide to report it.

First time I have read this post and I agree with what Puzzler said, I check several sources. It's about a 50/50 split between P2P Consortium and here to get information first though.

I have been here for sometime now and zeropaid is still my source for news when it comes to file sharing and technology. Over the years the site has become even better. I don't come around as much as I use too but I am always reading the new posts and what not. Actually its the 100% cotton tshirts that keep me comming back :P. Keep up the good work.

my news sources I regularly check go in this order: digg, slyck, betanews, zeropaid. Frankly zeropaids news is getting better and better as of late, but I just like to keep my eyes open at other places as well.
