Turn off your antivirus, then install the program and then turn the virus protection on again. Sometimes its like that, it will report as a virus since it connects to trackers and others for downloading and sending data. I use nod32 and have gotten no warning like that. But it does have bugs, list cracks and keygens as virus because it doesnt want you to be hacking your system.

Either AVG is detecting a false positive or you may have installed a malware version of BitTorrent.
Make sure that you get BitTorrent from- http://www.bittorrent.com/download.html
Or you can use another client like BitComet, uTorrent or Azurues.
If AVG is detecting a false positive, then add that file to the ignore list or use another Anti-Virus software.
Avast is free and better than AVG- http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

thanks littlebits
im sure that Bittorrent i got is genuine, coz since ive learn P2p i think i dl'd 4 times the BT from ZP and BT link not from other site
also ive done that thing, "exception" from scanning but AVG will detect the system of my pc where some file of BT exist and it will get back to problems
Another AV? not an option for me
but i get another dl'der and its Azurues and i think its ok
thanks to all of you

Why is another AV not an option for you?

Did you google maketorrent virus? It is Maketorrent, right? Have you seen these 2?

I'm thinking maybe this problem isn't unique to your system.

In the past while I was using AVG, it detected a BitTorrent program as a virus, I think it was BitComet. AVG also detected other false positives in eDonkey2000, Kazaa-Lite, K-Lite some others that I don't remember.
Anyways, I got tired of having to re-install programs because of AVG's errors. That's when I switched to Avast and the problems stopped. I currently use Nod32 now and every once in awhile it will detect a false positive, but it gives you the options to ignore, delete, quarantine or repair. AVG just deletes or quarantines everything without notice.
