Have you seen the movie "Changing Lanes?" It stars Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Affleck. What did you think of it?

Not much. A feud between a rich guy and a violent guy over a file for court.
Only clever thing is that they both want to be good, patch things up and get on with it. They make up in the end, and both turn REAL good.
Generally though a dull sort of film.

I know that this post is completely unnecessary. I just wanted to say that anything with Ben Affleck in it suffers immensely from his inclusion (talentless hack). I know, he has happened to be in some good movies (i.e. Mallrats and Good Will Hunting) but as he is created into a "leading man" by the motion picture juggernaut, his films are becoming far worse.
I see him and am instantly irritated. Bastard.
I have no idea where this deep loathing comes from, I have nothing against him personally, it is just his smarmy on-screen presence.
Perhaps I will watch it someday, it looks so implausible and poorly acted (I mean Ben Affleck IS in it) that it might be a rollicking good time.

It's a plausible movie, this could happen.
Trouble is I didn't really want to watch it happen. It's so HUMDRUM.

Gimme. A shot of huge clone army. Now that's eye candy. Violent Samuel Jacks. char. hitting people with a public payphone handset (in the rain) is mind f*ck pointless.

The movie was disappointing, and really made no sense at all.
It should have been a made for TV Movie.

Chashing Amy was so fucking stupid with him in it.....I couldn't stop laughing an whatever the hell her name was - the lesbian....god she can't act either....only one who saved the movie was his friend....don't know his name either but he just sounds an acts like the funniest dumbass....(that whole scene where he draws up the dike/nice dike/santa/easter bunny) had me on my ass.....
Anyway
Peace all, Later

Decent movie, still watchable by all means. However, I can't stand the fact that Affleck is gonna play the title character in the new Daredevil movie. He's the biggest idiot, I mean, who goes to frickin alcohol rehab at the age of 25?

This film rots your balls.
What did Bender Flick say to Samuel's wife to make her go back to him?
You know what? They wanted a happy ending, but they also wanted both charcaters to have a bastard time of it the whole movie.
They figured it wouldn't make sense that she got back together with him but put it in anyways.

Their synopsis is exactly the same as mine. Except they gave it 4 outta 5.
So I voted and gave it one outta five!
If you find office workers having a bad day interesting ("Oh wow, he stubbed his toe, gee whizz, golly") you'll love it.
Changing my socks is more fun than this film.
right, I'm off to make some banners to stand out side the movies where this crap is showing - I serious on this.

CCS, the guy in Chasing Amy with Affleck was the incomparable Jason Lee (who is cast so poorly in most films it is sick). He was also in several other films with Affleck directed by Kevin Smith.
To display the lack of talent of Affleck, just look at the reprehensible "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" in which he plays two different roles exactly the same. I mean, one of the roles is as himself and he wasn't even convincing as that! He kills a joke in its presentation. I have always considered Brendan Fraser to be "comedy cancer," but that is only because Affleck has not taken to doing comedy films (unless he has, and I just mistook it for him trying to be dramatic).
The problem with Affleck playing DD is that Matt Murdoch is an intelligent, blind lawyer. As evidenced in his past roles, Affleck is about as convincing as Anna Nicole Smith's quote about her not having fake breasts. Affleck may be wooden, but that won't make him be able to pull off blind or intelligent.
Can you imagine the intelligence of Affleck and Lopez's devil-spawn? I am truly afraid of what People Magazine is going to show about them in the future.
The best part of the commercials for Changing Lanes was describing Ben Affleck as "Academy award winning" like it was for his acting (it was for writing Good Will Hunting w/Damon). I just started howling when I saw that.

Can't say I've heard of the "Daredevil" though. 'bought time they did a good "Flash"
re: Ben Arselick, hated Changing Lanes, but he's really good at playing "nobodies". Do you know what I mean. He's no Danny devito, or Jim Carey, but he does play "normal" people really well.

When I saw the Matrix I didn't think, "wow this is cool." Instead I thought that this is how Wally West would see the world---just like everybody else is standing still. Maybe have him go through time on his cosmic treadmill and it must have the Rogues (at least Captain Cold and Heat Wave).
Really would be far better than any stupid Marvel comic film (c'mon Spider Man--who cares? Daredevil? The man without fear? Wooo I am so damn impressed).

This may sound juvenile but I really liked Spiderman and thought they did an excellent job making it. It was far better than some superhero movies I have seen (ie; the batman movies.. especially the last few.. boy were they TERRIBLE).
I was also impressed with X-Men, not because of the special effects though.. I liked the acting in it alot. I thought the actors did a really good job portraying their characters.
I can't wait for the Daredevil movie to come out, even if it does have Ben Affleck in it. And I really cannot wait for the sequals to X-Men and Spiderman. Batman can go and die in a ditch for all I care, they (the people who made it) completely butchered his character for me.

I have been reading comics for a long time and have a well established antipathy towards Marvel comis (well most) and my post was just reflecting this long-standing feeling. Spiderman was a very good film, BUT the special effects were very 1998. Sony did the graphices inhouse and the film's look suffered greatly because of this. I did like the film and Spiderman is okay.
X-Men was surprisingly good. It kept the comic feeling without seeming far-fetched and actually had actors that could act. It looked good as well.
Daredevil has always been an interesting character, but Mr. Affleck doesn't look right, the costume looks like a pile of shit, and I have no confidence in it whatsoever. I could be wrong, trust me, I have before.
BTW, Batman has great potential. Darren Aromsky (sp?) that did the fabulous films Pi and Requiem for a Dream is slated to direct the next film based on Frank Miller's Year One comics. If he casts someone that can act, the film could be great.
AOL and Time Warner have been focused for far too long on the bottom line rather than defining the characters and why they are interesting (Joel Schumacher should never be allowed to direct).
Well, that's what happens when corporate, short-sighted people take over a medium that they cannot comprehend further than the money that they can make off of it.

I thought the Batman I was mould breaking. It was dark and had a violent and twisted character. A very grim sense of humour.
Afterall I just had the orignal POW batman as a reference. That was all "cunning plan" and "action" scenes.

I suggest you watch Batmad Forever, or Batman & Robin...
Then you will know what true bad acting is. Oh and the director who thought George Clooney would play a good Batman outta be drawn and quatered.

I'd rather read the comics......the movie will never match up....just like with LOTR or even harry pothead LOL books an comics make you think an tell a story in a completely different way....a movie can't come close. Plus they have to chop shit out edit things different ect. I'll stick to reading MM's books an laying my hands on classic comic's. Anyone ever read Fantastic Four #2? I have a original copy an the look/feel/smell of this old comic just fits. I tried reading the MM (Marvel Masterworks) copy but the feeling wasn't the same. Also has anyone ever read EC's line of comics?
As for the first Batman movie...it was good but the rest lost that dark crazy insane odd cartoonish edge.
Peace all, Later
