Okee dokee. So I've tried probably eight different P2P software thingies in one night and I haven't found what I'm looking for. Here's the top features I want.
1. the searches must separately display the TITLE and ARTIST... like Ares or Kazaa (*this is a must)
2. the searches also must be decently fast... in other words not like Kazaa or Warez.. haha I know wtf is Warez (*this is a must)
3. the software cannot mess with my computer so the whole thing slows down... in other words not like Kazaa or Ares (*this is a must)
4. looks cute!!! hehe

GIMME YOUR INPUT!!!!

I think if you want music, you need to join oink.me.uk which is private. ANd you have to know how to seed and upload a torrent. . As well as upload something by following rules.
If you think you got the right stuff, pm me.
all music has it listed below.
(ICON of genre) Artist Album (Year/Format/byte rate) and if its Scene or Personal rip.. All rips have to be 192kbs and higher.
Once you click on the torrent you want, you will see a album cover, list of songs, other various stuff about the album. You can do either 2 things.. Bookmark the torrent for later, download the torrent and start it up. Your profile will have all your bookmarks so you can check on seed/leech status for later, and when you become power user, you can request stuff and other oink members will upload what you may of requested.
It's fast as so many people want a high ratio, they dont cap their upload speeds.

shareaza (http://shareaza.com) or frostwire (http://frostwire.com). Or winmx (http://winmxgroup.com) even. Oink just is not suitable for new users. In fact bittorrent as a whole is terrible for new users.

Frostwire is likely what you want. Try that out and let us know.

Well said Evilone. Everyone should take a note from this. Always try to give people what they ask for, not what you want them to use.

I do not understand how or why people say that, what is easier than downloading a torrent from a website, and then opening it with a client? it is all so simple, it reminds me of yesteryear when i was able to get what I wanted from actual websites.

And most programs, as soon as you click on the torrent will begin opening it with the client you have installed E:G starts downloading as soon as you click the torrent file.

I would suggest either Bit Tornado or µTorrent, very easy to use, although Bit Tornado would be what you could call butt-ugly since you are an aesthetically minded individual.

Sure, sounds easy to you and me and it is but how many threads do we get here where people just do not understand how it works at all. I know Ive tried explaining to people I thought had a bit of sense about PC's who just don't get it. Most of them end by saying they do not want to search the interent for sites to download from so I sorta gave up on them. Just picture your grandmother trying to figure out what a torrent is and does.

Most average or casual users want a simple GUI with a built in search function. Even when people use these programs they often don't know where these files are coming from, they just know how to hit a search button. Sad but true. We shouldn't always fanboy what we like to use but offer up what would be a good starting point for newer people. As a rule" Keep it as simple as possible!

I also imagine this person is looking for single MP3's but thats unclear.

At any rate Frostwire uses a fine, very fast network for music that most every day users will be very happy with. Not my favorite but its what I would recommend.

Im about to put shawners on ignore. Send this person one of your invites and let them try it out. It can't hurt to try them all I guess.

"like Ares or Kazaa"

Try Limewire Pro. That is a great program for music and has no adware or spyware.

Thats why oink.me.uk has a help forum and help thread. Either way, im not saying to stop using all the programs out there. Im simply stating to try something new and different. I use 3 torrent sites, usenet, and www.allofmp3.com for my stuff. I dont simply stick to one thing to aquire anything. But see what happens is people put all their eggs in one basket. Get use to one app and one way of getting stuff. And the people at edonkey, winmx found this out the hard way. Sure you can use it, but you need to be the jack of all trades.

People will tell you things that make no sence. Ill post facts and use little words to get you all thinking. People will direct you to ares, shareaza, frost because the guides are there, you just click and install.. And go into the prefrences and just do what you want to do. There is no good imput or wrong way to fuck things up. Its easy and direct, and they feel they dont have to waste time with you. You ask why go on to gnutella clients or winmx?? They will say it has rare files.. No shit, its cause no one wants them files, or just stupid crap. People say its not private and you can get caught with private sites.. Then you look at all the RIAA, and lawsuits being filed on those networks, as well as MPAA filing on people using gnutella and winmx. They will say to you, your greedy for wanting faster downloads. . NO Shit, i pay for high speed, if i wanted to be slow about it i be on dial up.. People are jealous, and angry cause people have evolved to better programs. I used kazaa, everyone did.. Now people slap it down for being a crapy network, all people did was take one step up. As well as everyone that was tired of it all took one big leap. Without rules, their is chaos. Look at these networks and you see chaos.. Child porn, ads, cease and desist letters, fake songs, songs that are messed up, files that never complete, computer crashes, high system resource consumption.

Of course i could of said Frost, and others.. But i took the time to give you another road or option of traveling down hannah. You dont have to stop using the networks you love or even have to conform to one. This can go hand in hand with others. I know you cant get everything from one place and you shouldnt. But you can join a music site for rare and POPULAR Stuff that you love. I wouldnt feel right to direct you to a riaa/mpaa infested pool of spoofing bots.
All the users in the networks sued.
BitTorrents on private trackers 0.
BitTorrents on public Trackers 1000-or HIGHER, and increasing
Users on gnutella, winmx, kazaa, 10,000 and increasing.

I really wasn't fanboying, I honestly do/did think it would be alright for a novice, but upon further contemplation perhaps not. At any rate, just wanted to let you know I was not being a fanboy :when have you ever seen me do that?.:icon_thum

Actually I didn't mean to imply you were although I was quoting from your post. I know you better than that.:icon_blac

Anyone else notice the RIAA stopped suing people in Feb. after they had been suing 750 people a month since like forever? I wonder why and what their next step is. I could guess what (or waht agency perhaps) would make them stop but I will not at this point.

I think the "programs" question has been answered well. However, I have to add a small postscript....

Asking for speed and no resources is a bit of an impossibility. Everything you do on a PC uses something. The thing is, to learn what your system is running. Optimize, and when possible, eliminate unnecessary processes. That way you have the capacity to run the apps you really want to use.

As for BT, it is not a bad choice for beginners imho. The principal is fairly simple, it is popular, and there are tuts and sites that have great explanations and support. My favorite BT client is uTorrent. It is simple (out of the box), yet for experienced users - is configurable, and offers a lot of info.

Get it here http://www.utorrent.com/

It even has skins for those who like some eye candy, and better yet can offer encryption.
