The Daily Show. Fox news is for Bush fanboys.

I think people need to realise that The Daily Show is not news. It's a great programme but you can't get news from it. You need an unbiased presentation that just gives you the facts, no opinions. I don't really know what's available in the States, but i enjoy The Daily Show.

the daily show is just as accurate as fox news on being unbiased so the comparison still sticks.

Yes..ALL news in the US is bias, I just enjoy the way Jon Stewart presents it because he says what I'm thinking when watching Fox news.

It's like Fox news is leaving something out that is OBVIOUS, and I wait and wait and they never say it.

Unbiased news is available on public television, PBS. The News Hour with Jim Lehrer. It's as moderate as news gets.

(I find Jim Stewart entertaining almost always. Sometimes I find O'Reilly entertaining. Since I like Stewart better, thats how I voted, though I watch both about as much.)

I rarely watch fox, ever since they changed it further up on the dial I just havnt bothered. There are a few shows on it that I like but they usually play on another channel at the same time. Ive never watched the news and dont think I ever will, always seemed so booring. WAR, DEATH WAR RELIGION DEATH WAR.

I've found I can never disagree with Malakai1911.

I start reading his posts and my eyes wander over a bit and pretty soon I'm nodding and thinking "great post".

and a rim shot every now and then wouldn't hurt either.

I don't watch the Daily News for actual "news." I watch cnn, msnbc, local news channel, etc. But, that wasn't the question.

I was making a separate observation, which is why i said at the end that i watch The Daily Show. If i were in the US i probably wouldn't watch Fox news.

Yes..ALL news in the US is bias

I figure if I watch Fox News and Al-jazerra they'll cancel each other out and you'll end up with some neutral opinion, kinda like PBS Quentin Tarantino style. Lots of blood, lots of explosions and very little logic.

What do you need all those news channels for when you've got SNL's Weekend Update.

F*ck TV, read the news online from a wide variety of sources because ALL TV news is unreliable and biased so you may as well use the internet where you can discuss events with hundreds of people and get a better approximation of the truth than the idiot box presents.

jon stewart is a very funny and talented comedian, but his political comments are meant as satire and not as fact. i only watch fox news because they the only ones who are not biased (especially to left-wing liberals). just because they present an EQUAL conservative side as well as a liberal point of view does not make them "bush poster boys". journalists have a responsibility to cover all sides of a story equally and with journalistic integrity not with an ideological advocacy. this is the problem with the new york times. fox continues to be bashed for being "right-leaning"..but...WHERE is the proof???????? the reason they have gained so much popularity (and criticism) is that people are tired the biased media outlets....right and left.

Even David Letterman can see past the crap that comes out of OReilly's mouth.

You asked for evidence, you must now read all listed here:
http://www.oreilly-sucks.com/foxbias.htm

If you are asking for secret video evidence of collaberation with the Bush administration team......you aren't going to find what you are looking for.

i have read that "crap". i am one of the world's biggest letterman fans and i disagree with dave on o'reilly. even dave said he "wasn't smart enough" to debate bill oneon one. besides...bill o'reilly gets paid to make comments and not be a journalist. he is a political commentator and not a reporter. therein lies the difference. very often, bill has criticized the bush administration on many points. his job is to be indepedenent. he takes heat from the left and right. he is pro life and a pro environmentalist. then again..he is paid for his opinion. you have the right to disagree. BUT, he is not a journalist. al franken, sean hannity, alan colmes, etc..are all poitical commentators. presenting both sides of a political discussion is important. it seems as if you are fair and present a conservative point of view equally with a liberal point of view you are labeled as a "fascist". so much for free speach. shame.

I voted for the Daily Show. However, if you really want the straight dope on news, you gotta watch CNN.

Either that or Cecil Adams.

For real. I wouldn't classify Bill or John as news...i'd put them in the joke category but nor would I put CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, Nytimes, Washington Post, or the rest of the well knowns in the news category. They are all government propaganda. They tell the news from the government's point of view. Non of them will call the government out on it bullshit and when they do it's too late to do anything about it. If the government tells them to SHUT THE FUCK UP and hold a story they SHUT THE FUCK UP AND HOLD THE STORY. If you pay any attention thats what happened with the initial NSA spying on Americans story. I will though take bits and pieces from some of them and come to my own truth.

Fuck, it's all an illusion anyway. Why waste my time.

Bullshit, CNN is just as bad as the rest. They all lie consistently and compulsively. I've come to realize that many people don't really want to be told the truth.

It's not that small, honest.

I'd give you rep for that ass kissing, but it wont let me. For the record, I do all the research I can before I form an opinion, and if I find I'm wrong later I change it.

"Lie" is harsh. "Mislead" is better. "Twist words to fit their own agenda" might even be more accurate. People enjoying watching the news as entertainment usually, not for content.

Reading the news is better than watching, and I'd reccomend the NY Times highly, but people smack them up as "liberal" instead of one of the most important papers in the history of American journalism. (Why? Your local newspaper is written, on average, on the 8th grade reading level. The NY Times is written, on average, on a 12th grade reading level.)

Run my post through a flesch-kinkaid analysis; then try an article from your local newspaper online, then try an article or two from the NY Times.

I don't think "lie" is too harsh at all. Remember the GM gas exploding facade or the faked Bush letters and countless other works of fiction.

New York Times is my home page but even they are not always forthcoming either.

The following link proves my point.

Okay, so maybe a few lies. But I think journalism as a whole is alright.

I always watch The daily Show with Jon Stewart .He is an extremely talented and entertaining host and I enjoy his exchanges with his various guests. The show may be a satire of the news but it does frequently raise questions that make you genuinely think about the issues of the day and remember that just because the media reports something as fact does not always automatically make it so.
