Hi everyone, this is lilian.
I came to this forum in a google search of "WINMX", I was looking for this software because I'm a fan of Japanese Animations and Mangas, and a lot of Japanese people exchange recourses using WINMX. I hope to download it and try to use it. I know some Japanese so I can communicate with the fans in Japan, but for the software I am still very new to it
I read the posts above and I saw that WINMX requires patch. does WINMX take much space? does it work well with the XP system? can you install WINMX if you also have BitTorrent?
Can somebody say something about the good and bad sides of WINMX? cause I really don't know anything about this software. Thank you very much!!

Good network, unfortunately hard to connect to since it was shut down. Patches are available to run it. Check out this...

Members suck who fanboy or don't know what the fuck theyre talking about. Winmx is still a fantastic network. It doesnt take up much space and works great with XP. Yes there are tons of Japanese shows on winmx but most can speak some english so even if your japanese is limited you'll find what you want. Just find an Anime chat room and get busy. Its the best place to be!
BT sucks for older and rare Japanese flicks, Ares doenst have any at all. If you guys don't like winmx fine, but when someone asks for help, learn to be quiet and let someone else help them out.
Good side - Winmx has tons of rare shows, A great community that will help you out and is an all around great place to know people and make friends. It can be a bit safer as most people trade one for one in the chat rooms and once you get known and have a bunch of friends, you can be sure they arent from the MPAA.
Bad side - If you do not have any content to share it can be hard to get what you want. Lots of people like to trade with friends only (this is a pro for me but some do not like that), if you have to wait in que it can take a very long time.

How many other threads are there on winmx??? Just ask a question on an open thread. it makes more sence. at the top of the winmx forums page is a thread for winmx setup. if you cant figure it out there, use something simpler than winmx like boogiedan said.

I have had winmx also and just joined this forum today trying to find free music downloads - not MP3. Just something simple with high quality. I have cable but don't know anything about some of the sites. Everytime I think I've found one, it turns out they want to charge me after registering. I'm a novice but I found you all didn't I? :) I'd sure appreciate the help if anyone is willing. Thanks so much.
