The modified DVD firmware has been released for the Toshiba-Samsung H943 Xbox 360 DVD drive (it will ONLY work on that drive - the Hitachi-LG drives will need their own modified firmware).

Here it is, the long awaited World first Xbox 360 backup firmware modification to boot all game backups

Features:
- Boots all Xtreme Xbox 360 backups
- Boots all Xtreme Xbox 1 backups
- Boots all Xbox 360 originals
- Boots all Xbox 1 originals on Xbox 360
- Xtreme0800 extraction firmware enables drive to function natively under Windows without any hardware conversion/adaptors
- Use on Xbox Live at own risk

Im very suprised at how quickly and how easily these people were able to hack the 360 without the use of a mod chip. Bear in mind that this hacked firmware could easily be replaced if Microsoft decides to enable checks over xbox live, but its still very embarrassing considering they stated that "There are going to be levels of security in this box that the hacker community has never seen before.".

This has been out awhile and there are many questions about how legit this really is. And also, as you say, the firmware can easily be replaced even in other ways besides xbox live, put in a new game and you may own a now non working xbox. Each games will require a new hack to make sure your xbox doesnt bite the big one too. I read a whole lot on this subject a month or so back and most was over my head but Im willing to say that a mass modded xbox work around is long way off if it ever even happens. There are just too many built in ways that will toast your box if you even try running it modded.

To say the least, this group of people have really given many people a false sense of hope. If youre not very very intelligent, this hack they have

This hasnt been out awhile. Its been developed and i been following it along. The people who hacked the xbox and got the game going didnt release the firmware to the public cause they didnt want liability in being sued and cracking it as well as submiting to pirating. This is new and it cost nothing but a little time to try out. Plus you dont need to buy any xbox games since they are on the net and can be downloaded. The games may not rewrite firmware for a dvdrom drive, if they did. They will find away to strip it out or hook the xbox back up to rewrite the firmware. This is to be done without using adaptors to connect dvdrom to the pc. I may purchase a xbox 360 later this year, but this more likely is a soft mod. More people will understand how xbox 360 works and make a chip that could easily be put into play, maybe even a DVD-ROM drive you buy that you snap the old one out and it has all the necessary firmware. XBOX 360 may update their drives or fix this issue on the next segment of xbox's to come out. But we will wait to see how many more exploits come from this.

The group released under commodore4eva, and its shown to be there first release on 360, and the original people who did the hack on XBOX with dvd firmware by dumping the data out, to make it boot backups.

Ive known about it for a few months now and read a lot about it. You have to seperate the hype, fiction from whats real and wishful thinking. I don't know where youve been. It was added March 18. Thats two months ago. Thats "awhile". I thought there was another thread or two here about this, possible fake, video.

You really need to read more about the security of the XBOX 360. The way this was done is not practical by any means. Its one game only and not that big a deal. There are just to many ways for MS to block any hacks. I doubt anyone is actually playing any of these back up games. I think its all bullshit. Flash the DVD drive and youre gonna own a high priced brick! Opps "I didnt get the right key!" Will be the cry of many many poor idiots! "This is it" yeah right. Theyve got nothing. All those ISO's are useless at this time. I don't know of anyone who is actually playing on a hacked 360 and Im certain its because no one is doing it. Taking the drive out, assuming you can get one of the first 360's sold so this will work, and hooking it up to a PC and all the other crap they say you have to do to even get close to getting this crap to work is not a very good sign that there is going to ever be a simple way of playing cracked games. Trying to bet your 360 back together is a whole other story to itself which no one talks about. I just don't buy inot what these guys are selling till I see it in action first hand

To me, people who refuse to support the gaming industry are low lifes. Its an awesome industry and I would be sad if they were not around

Its gives FULL detail on backing up the firmware thats on the dvdrom. As we know it, it is working. The firmware got sent out just recently to everyone. Its working as you can see a NEW game thats patched so you can use it on extreme firmware. It doesnt matter if your Xbox has the samsung drive. You will be able to buy it soon on ebay as well as other places. They even posted pictures of what it looks like if you can get it used. It goes back to choosing what you want, you can support movies, music, gaming industry. Dont get so pissed that everyone is doing what they love, many may do this as legal means. As first heard of when someone got their game disc scratched by turning the machine on its side. There being played right now, as this was only the first beginning of everyone owning the firmware update. There be pictures put in place and people reporting back to the net of what there doing. Modchip industry will have a mod within two months. Nothing is worthless, cause once you downloaded the ISO, you have it saved on your pc for later. It even said to save them to when the xbox360 gets cracked. SO you patch in the security on the ISO, burn it to dl dvd. ANd you got yourself a working game. Why would you stay up to date on this if you didnt care about it getting hacked? or want to support the industry? You can flash the firmware back if you saved it in the beginning. Genuine advantage been hacked everytime microsoft releases it to dectect a unpirated version of windows. People have noted to not go on xbox live with it yet.

This is the extreme patched iso of "Call Of Duty 2 PAL PI XBOX360"

Note : You need the xtreme fw on your (PAL) sammmy 360 drivE
Note : You need DVD9 media

Burn with CloneCd and choose the image.dvd file.

Ensure your burner will set the booktype of DVD+R DL to DVDRom.

use 2.4x burning speed for best x360 drive peform

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember you need to own the orginal of the game to have the right of using this backup.

After reading some of the contents of this thread, I just though I would bring a few things to light. If you go to Xbox Scene there are working and released firmware hacks available for both the Hitachi and Samsung drive. In addition I have seen modchips which claim to work here:

http://www.modchipman.com/devilmod-360-xbox-360-modchip-p-1049.html
http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php?productid=16412&cat=0&page=1

I am definately either buying one or flashing my drive in the next week like I did with my original XBOX. By the way all games are fully functional on the firmware hacks and probably the new modchips. Just check out some torrent forums like BlackCats Games or Xboxsky.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You're suprised??? I actually have to admit a certain childish excitement when I hear of anything Microsoft comes out with being hacked up and re-distributed.....oh lol!

And as far as this whole "Security" thing Microsoft claims to have done.....pfffff! if this is the best they can do, then eather they have someone workng agenst them from the inside, or they are twice as dumb as i expected. I cant wait to se what heppens with Vista.

I bought a xbox 360 in Jan of 2008, had the benq drive. Got a guy on craigslist to flash it since i didnt have the exact chip set to do it.. Cost only 50. I own 59 xbox360 games that i did decide to keep. Only a couple coasters.. The older games need to be ran through dvdmulleter and repatched with stealth and a matching ini file.. Also you can split vid the video on one of the dvd layers.. So far i been playing a handful of games, even before they come out in the store. Oh yeah.. Kicks ass on xbox live :P
Few im into right now.. I play one game for a while til i get burned out and rotate.. Its the only way to get to play them all.. There is a bunch of dumb games that get released and it pisses me off wasting a 2 dollar disc on it.
Unreal tournament
Soul Calibur 4
Ninja Gaiden II..

You got to ask yourself.. Do you want to spend 60-70 for a game or a tank of gas that could last a couple weeks?

i use this to backup with Samsung SH-D162C drive.

SH-D162C_TS05_KREON_V100

XBOX 360 enabled alternative FW for the Samsung SH-D162C drive - V1.00 *

and the time has come for a small maintenance release.
While the V0.81 release has performed rather well, there's always room
for improvements, even though most of them are well hidden and probably won't
be noticed by most people.

Changes/fixes in this release..
--------------------------------
- Major cleanup of code - the SH-D162C and SH-D163A now share the same code. This has been a painful job to do, but will make future updates so
much easier to handle.
- The firmware is now based on the official TS05 firmware as opposed to TS04 for earlier releases.
- Fixed a potential problem with the way that the RPC patching was done.
- The laser head is now parked in a known and safe position following SS extraction. This should fix the clicking noise, that some people
experienced from time to time.
- RPC settings stored in flash mem of the drive is now reset. This is not important for the patched firmware, but will leave the RPC settings as
they came from the factory, if someone, for some strange reason, should decide to go back to a non patched firmware.
- The feature list has been expanded to hold seperate feature entries for XBOX and XBOX360

No where special. Having a 2 year old doesnt leave you much time to do stuff. When the kiddo goes to bed at 8pm, we watch a movie, then fall asleep during letterman.. ANd in the mornings i usually play xbox360 til my son wakes up.. Its around 7am, then work, and repeat. Just get on here from time to time to download stuff and get things.. In the meantime of doing so , i kill sometime on these forums =). So far life is good. Were expecting our second son in the End of October.. Wash, rinse and repeat =)

XBOX 360 is hacked and working perfectly. Only exception is that if you wish to play backup games on live you might get banned.
