"Attention bloodsuckers, familiars and slayers of the undead. Blade is back! Or he will be soon. Spike TV will be continuing one of the most successful comic-based franchises of the past decade with Blade: The Series!

June 28th will see the premier of Spike TV's Blade. The two-hour opener finds Blade setting up shop in Detroit (home of Comics2Film), investigating the aforementioned vampire house. Along the way he forms an uneasy alliance with Krista Starr, a former military veteran who becomes entrenched in the world of vampires while investigating the murder of her twin brother.

Taking over the role of Blade is Kirk "Sticky" Jones who fans may recall from his recurring bit on "The Shield" and more recently on the controversial Iraq war series "Over There". "Punk'd" babe Jill Wagner takes on the role of Starr.

C2F fave filmmaker David S. Goyer is, once again, the driving force behind the new show. Loyal readers know that Goyer wrote all three "Blade" movies and directed the third one. He also scored big with last year's "Batman Begins"."

I would like to see a Buffy crossover. That would kick ass but she would break down and screw Blade by the end of the show.

In other news, Does anyone know where I can watch the Justice League of America TV pilot? Youtube deleted it before I could watch it. http://quicksitebuilder.cnet.com/rob_63/id10.html

There was a series based on the flash around 1990 or so and it was excellent, but as always they canceled it, because from what i heard it cost too much to make at 1 million an episode, but they pay more then that these days just for 1 actor, thats stupid.

One more thing, lets at least give blade a chance before people start cutting it down, it doesnt look bad like the jla thing

We were talking about the Justice League Pilot, it looks like crap! I'll give the new Blade series a chance, enough people are on board to make it a killer series.

I have the first episode of the flash series I got off winmx a long time ago. I never saw the rest of the eps offered up though. If i remeber right, the other reason the series went South is because the Flash actor came "out of the closet" same thing happened to Ellen years later. Its sad that people can't like a show for the good stories.

I can dig up that ep if you want it. Its a VHS cap as are most of the rare shows out there.

More or less, blade will be terrible. Buffy the vampire slayer, Angel, Dark City anyone?? What you get out of it, to keep cost down, they will have badly performed stunts, low quality CGI, bad lines, bad acting, bad stories, bad directing. The only best series out there. The Greatest American Hero. =) That was truly a funny show.

I Think vampires have now been burnt and played out..

I think there's a little life left in vampire flicks. I'm predicting a decent flick for 30 Days of Night (2007) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0389722/

I never heard that the guy who played the flash was gay, but then again who cares, that has nothing to do with his ability to play that part, i liked the series it was very good for when it was made. I think blade could be very good and its not like it will cost anything to watch it, so either way why complain its free.

Look at it this way....the series HAS to be better than the last movie.

Signs that you know its a bad series, the actor/actress that played the movie version never goes into doing the series for it. I think alot of it has to do with producers, and networks. I was reading that Alias had alot of things that the director and creater wanted to do but some of the networks and producer wouldnt allow it or wanted more control.. Or would not relinquish the control so the writers could have full creative control.

I'm less worried about a new actor taking Blade than I am about the possibility of replacing Ryan Reynolds as Hannibal King.

That says enough to me. I see no reason to think it will be bad at all. Superman has bounced back and forth from tv to the theater for years with great results. Its all in whos writting the stories. Stargate (SG1) made a better show than a movie, MASH was super huge, The Odd Couple, so on and so forth. Movies can make great TV shows if the characters are strong and the writting is good. Buffy as a movie was a bomb (cult classic) till it was made into a TV show where it found much success. Saying Blade is going to suck before you even see a preview is being narrow minded. I like the character and think it could be great if put into the right hands and since its from the guy who wrote all the movies, Id say it has a good chance of being worth watching.

Its different then that. I say it be too cheesy and just cause someone wrote three movies, doesnt mean that they have all the creative powers in the world to write 22 episodes a season. Writing a sitcom and casting great people to be placed in them is different then writting a vampire series. He will need a big writing team to keep the movie from going onto this fake playing fields, where women have dumb lines and do stupid things and he comes in slashing away to save them.. I thought being narrowminded was when a person diss private bt and newsgroups without ever trying them. But i guess that was okay =)
If the show is to succeed, it will need a great cast and alot of training for the stunts, cant depend on wierd motions of wire harnesses and speeding up the film to make it seem that its effortless.
Here is David Goyers work
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0333060/ IF you look at pre-post production. This guy is busy, and stories will falter due to his working on other movies and exceeding himself. Maybe find a writing team, and be producer. It will happen.

#1) I now fear shawners as well, he may be the only person that can bring newsgroups into any given conversation:

"Global warming could be slowed if people consumed bandwidth in large chunks rather than distributed, using less power, this can be achieved with newsgroups."

#2) The hardest bit about TV shows and Made-for-TV movies is the way the lower budgets affect production values. Thankfully, the blade series was "gritty" and urban settings are plentiful, so the crossover may not be that bad.

So did anybody see the debut of the series? I missed it but the ad's look really good. The word I have got from some people is that they did not like it. I think that is to be expected as a first impression after people have come to see Snipes as Blade. Some friends even told me, before hand, that is was going to suck so its hard to take their critique seriously. I still have hope this series will find its feet and with the talent behind the scenes it shouldn't have a problem.

Most people here http://www.tv.com/blade/show/22167/summary.html seemed to enjoy it. There is also a series trailer if you havent seen it yet.

i watched it and i thought it ok, nothing spectacular but worth watching. the story could have moved along at a faster pace and had more action. it was just the first show so i will see how it goes along. this show will never be as good as three movies but i hope they try to improve some of the short comings.

Just another blood sucking TV show...or maybe I should leave the blood part out. I watched it and only because I liked the movies, but I found it just a bit lame. It lacked a good plot and the acting was weak, especially Chuck Liddel...now come on!

I'll admit, I am hard to please, and simply because of the abundance of Vampire TV/Movies, it has to be good to stand up.
