Can you give more info on how your browser is messed up? We really cant help you if you dont explain your problem.

A fresh install or update should do the trick. Save your BOOKMARKS= 0)

if you are still sure its virus malware spyware related
try posting a hijack this log
someone might see something in that
you could give opera browser a go and see if that plays up as well
do you have zone alarm or some security type app blocking pics maybe?
check firefox options
content->load images
is checked

Did you use a registry cleaner/uninstaller after you uninstalled firefox to make sure that you really deleted everything?

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\lksjflkasdjflsadjf
Replace random homerow bits with other random bits that actually exist. That is your Firefox profile. Move that directory somewhere else or delete (BACK UP YOUR BOOKMARKS) after you uninstall. Then reinstall.

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\
if you get to that folder but don't see the Application Data folder
you need to go to:
windows explorer>tools>folder options ^view tab >show hidden files and folders
usually the first thing people fix up in windows..but you never know
:)
