View Full Version : Censored search results?

This scares me a little bit.
On both DonkeyServer 1 & 2, a search for "Resident Evil" instantly stops with no results. I find it hard to believe that there simply isn't any Resident Evil material on the server. Is it just me, or can someone else reproduce and confirm this?

Do you have results with just one of the words?

Yeah, both "Resident" and "Evil" produce results. Together, no matter the order, they don't.

Searching for the term "resident evil" on the KAD network works fine, don't have time to check donkey server etc, cause I deleted all static servers from my list after razorback was busted.

That's my concern; either testing of a filter algorithm or a set-up for a honeypot. Either way, something doesn't smell right.
Other servers present results fine, Kad should be no different.

Just use KAD if you're worried.

Just use KAD if you're worried.
That's not the issue. A whole lotta people would be pretty upset to hear they're on a tainted server, including me.

On DonkeyServer No1 (62.241.53.2:4242) and/or No2 (62.241.53.16:4242)? I'm still seeing no results. Not that I don't believe you, I'm just trying to be certain.

This does seem a little suspicious.

Haha. Wasn't interested in the movie, but I definitely suspect it'd be the MPAA before gaming companies.
Above all this, introducing the ability to filter content in any P2P application sets a very bad precedent.
