Oh wow...I actually found this thread again.
What do you mean, LotD?
Oh, just that I followed Krell's jolly link and after a few tests here and there, my flippin browser closed. And I'm pretty damn well protected.:icon_scra
Sooooooo...
Do you recommend the Path Management Software? Not because I need it, but because I had already typed that question when the browser closed. Just curious.
Upon attempting this part of the tests:
If you would like I'll attempt to open your CD Drive and read part of your win.ini file off your hard drive. If this test is successful, then you have a bug in Internet Explorer which allows reading and sending of local files! To check for this vulnerability, choose your operating system from the selection below. If you are vulnerable, then a message will pop up containing part of your win.ini.
(Windows 95,98,ME,XP)
(Windows NT4.0, 2000)
It went fine. It was when I tried to close the damn window that it locked up. It said Close Window. I clicked. Nada. I tried the "X." I tried Right-Click, Close in the task bar. I even tried Task Manager. I got the End Program window and clicked Close and it took all my open sites with it. Including all the unread topics I had left. So I have found this thread again.:error
Moving onward...
To remove the SuperCookie, select the "Tools / Options..." menu command from Windows Media Player and uncheck the box that says "Allow Internet sites to uniquely identify your player".
This is unchecked on mine yet a SuperCookie shows. Props to Firefox for showing "None" in this field.
Oh yay...now my Internet died. Curse your link, Krell! I'll be back.:icon_shak
