Right, i'm using uTorrent 1.5 and when downloading a torrent it never goes any higher then 30.7KB/s and usually sticks on 30.0KB/s. I've got 1MB Broadband and on programs like Morpheus, BearShare i get 130KB/s and sometimes faster, is there something that i could change to improve the speed?
On the bottom of uTorrent it says on the bottom "Download Limited" and next to that is a green light which says "Network OK - your network connection is working like it should".
Maybe this could help, but my ISPs upload limit is 100K so i can't upload to people faster then 10-11KB/s

Does it do this with all the torrents, I know some of them can be slower than others for a variety of reasons. Try some different files and see if it changes.
Second your ISP is 100Kb/s (bits), which is about 12 KB/s (bytes). There are 8 bits in a byte. So the 10-11 KB/s is quite reasonable.

Can we see a screenshot of this "download limited" section of uTorrent. I've never seen this before, not in uTorrent.
Obviously it seems like you have limited your self in uTorrent. Right click on the D: 0.0 kB/s section and select "Unlimited".

Did you limit the download manually, or is this just occuring without warning?

Limit your upload to 5kbs.. and turn off encryption.

Make sure its 5 KB/s for the limit, also encryption might help if there is some sort of bittorrent traffic shaping. Try with and without on the same torrent to compare speeds.

sorry to be a grave digger but this question wasnt answerd and it was at the top of the google search when I had the same problem (and found the answer from such a simple search) anyway http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#What_does_Download_Limited_in_the_status_b ar_mean.3F theres your answer, setting your upload speed to 5kb/s would NOT fix it the best way to fix this problem is to remove your upload limit altogether (set to 0)

If you set your upload to unlimited(0) you'll crawl when your surfing.Set it at about 80% of your upload bandwidth.
