View Full Version : Does not support shaders?

Hi, guy. I've got a problem here. Even though this is a game related difficulty, I thought this would be more fitting in the computing forum. Move this if I'm wrong : )

I just got a game, Dynasty Warriors 4 Hyper for PC. Unfortunately, after installing it, when I try to play it, this little message pops up:

"Your graphic cardes does not support shaders necessary to play the game. For requirement details, refer to the manual or contact support."

I have not idea what's going here... I thought my computer was a pretty powerful machine, so I'm just wondering, is this a hardware problem (I checked Intel, my graphic cardmanufacturer's site, and they did mention my card supports shader, I even ugraded my driver)? Or is it possible play without this shader thing? Here are my specs:

Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition

DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c)

CPU Type Intel Pentium 4 630, 3000 MHz (15 x 200)

System Memory 1015 MB

Video Adapter Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (128 MB)

3D Accelerator Intel GMA 900

video (http://www.intel.com/design/graphics/gma900/)

It looks like you bought a boxed solution that features a built in video card. You would be best served by finding out if you can disable the video and add in a seperate video card.

In addition, according to this (http://pc.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.php?id=10622) write-up it is tremendously hard to get the video for that particular game working well.

I'm assuming you bought this in the recent past? Go back to where you bought it and ask questions. They'll explain that built-in video isn't the best for high end rendering and offer to sell you what you need and install it for a price. Don't worry though, they won't apologize for not having mentioned anything of the kind when they sold it to you.

Pixle shading is something common with most new games and is mostly a Nvidia based thing.
Cheapprick was right, if you know your computer go and open the case.

If you can see an extra slots on your moboard your in luck.
You just get a new card and slap it in .

Intergrated video usually sucks and I have been there myself, I feel your pain

Oh, what a loss ;_; Thanks for the tip, but since I'm not too much of a regular PC gamer, I think I'll wait a while before my next upgrade.

Let the stalking begin.

Stalker? That's swell :D
