Scientists announced today new evidence supporting the theory that the infant universe expanded from subatomic to astronomical size in a fraction of a second after its birth.

The finding is based on new results from NASA's Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) satellite, launched in 2001 to measure the temperature of radiant heat left over from the Big Bang, which is the theoretical beginning to the universe.

This radiation is known as the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), and it is the oldest light in the universe.

Using WMAP data, researchers announced in 2003 that they had pieced together a very detailed snapshot of the universe as it was about 400,000 years ago, and that they had determined things like its age, composition and development.

It's amazing how they can calculate this sort of information down to a second. Interesting stuff, thanks.

God snapped his fingers, and boom, everything shot out and got created.

Where did God come from and was there some sort of vote for this big job? I'll think I'll create myself now, I'm tired of being nothing, God said. That conflicts with the bible anyways as the Earth and heavens were created along with man with in seven days, not billions of years. Im not sure of the singularity theory though, it does not explain why some parts of the universe are much older than others. Im just waiting for the big crunch, coming next week!

Shot out of what? His pneumatic T-shirt cannon?

See that goD was labeled as a he, about the only thing he could shoot out is....

Ewww.

muslim religion is actually the exact same as that. but not getting into religion i have wonders too. if god created us and earth why do we need all the stars planets astroids why not just earth and the sun if all other planets r unlivable

and when we die does our soul go on or do we just shut off and stop functioning

like when u turn off your computer it just stops.

i asked my friend that the other day...she said nobody. nothing created him.
which left me confused.

lately, i've been asking myself the same question though..i definitely think there was someone/thing that created life and earth and atoms and well, everything. there's no way it happened by chance. not in my mind anyway..

IMO, The concept of God: We are all a part of God. Evrything around us is a part of God. When we die our energy is transformed into another part of God. Through life and death (of everything) the universe is learning and growing into a more powerful being (God). The Universe will one day be sentient and controll itself and everything in it. Then the Universe will seek another universe to mate with and have another Big Bang! Bam!

lol, I lifted this one and the previous one from thge movie "Yellow Submarine". There are a lot of good scenes to make avatars of in that movie. I wish I could somehow make one that portrays the blue meanies as the RIAA. Maybe I will work it out sooner or later

EDIT: not this one!
