for whatever reason, bitcomet causes me to lose my internet connection several times a day.most likely because my computer is so weak, only 256 memory(yes,i know i need a better computer, but im disabled and living on 400 dollars a month doesnt leave me much money for computer upgrades).i have disabled my router, had a dsl line test, had my modem checked, and the only time this happens is when i run bitcomet.the obvious answer i guess is to switch cleints, but i dont know how to transfer my torrents to another client.i know someone asked a somewhat similar question today, but im still a bit confused.any help would be welcome,my OS is xp pro sp2,thanks

Has it always timed out? Which version # of Bitcomet are you using? How long have you had it? How long has sp2 been installed?

Yes you don't have a lot of ram but the computer I'm running uTorrent on has the same amount and runs fine. Even with doing lots of other things at the same time. Can you say more about the machine? I don't understand why you say you've checked the router and modem. What's the cpu? What kind of ram is it?[sd, ddr, etc.] This is mainly nosiness.

By disabling your router do you mean you've opened the neccesary ports?

Are the torrents you want to transfer already started? Another client may transfer the whole file faster than waiting around worrying about moving them.

Happens to me too. The solution- use uTorrent.
