<p>"I think it's crazy, because I don't even know how to download music," said the 24-year-old mother of two. </p><p> </p><p>But before one might blame the kids, it's best to know that they are 7 and 3, too young to be downloading Bob Marley's "Pimper's Paradise," Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" and William Hung's "She Bangs" — just some of the tracks a group of record companies accuse Neree-Thompson of trading on Kazaa, an online file-sharing service. </p><p> </p><p>The suit seeks an injunction ordering Neree-Thompson to stop violating the recording artists' copyrights and seeks legal fees and damages. </p>

Seriously now do they really think they lost money from a sale of william hung's record. Can they really go to court and say we lost money because she would of pay for willam hung's record. How the hell could anyone keep a strait face saying that.

The RIAA are going to sue an individual for downloading a few songs? How much worse do they want their image to get?

a man once took a black man to court for eating half of a cake in the gas station and not paying for it. people laughed. its not what the person did tho. its the fact they did it. if i stole a dollar or stole million. the fact is i still stole.
i hate the riaa tho but im just facing the facts that their right. we are obtaining music without actually paying for that song

...which lends the question should we be paying for that song? What should we be paying for exactly? The privilege to copy? The privilege to listen? The privilege to think? I personally think that sending one of the artists a dollar in the mail should negate any legal charges against you, or whatever that artist would receive as compensation for their work.
